Question: who watches MLS soccer games on TV? Where do they put the commercials? In the World Cup there aren't any (which is fantastic! Plus the games are over in an hour 45 minutes).

How's this for a conspiracy theory: The reason soccer will never be popular in this country is because TV can't figure out how to break for commercials (I know there are a lot of other reasons but I never heard this one before).

Just wouldn't be the same game with TV timeouts breaking it up...

It is the same as the WC, but they have lots of on screen ads. They say things like "this portion of the match sponsored by Budweiser". Sort of a jump on the Tivo world because lots of shows are thought to be on the verge of such a way to beat the commercial skip feature.

ESPN shows about a match a week. Most games though are on the local sports networks. Everyone does the same thing, no commercial breaks away from the action, just lots of on screen stuff and occasional 10 second logos going on the screen during injuries and when they are chasing down the ball.
