I can't beleive I am asking this but it seem that some people think the Yanks (or any team) would be better without him. I completly disagree and think he is top 3 player in the game.

Just wondering if anybody has the guts to say he is a dud. I am sure there are a few haters out there.

Definite stud although he needs to start hitting when it counts more. His clutch game will come around but that's really his only weakness. One of the top 5 guys at offense. One of the top 5 guys at defense. Hard to knock him other than his "clutchiness".

He is not a Dud....Eric Munson that is a dud. People are jealous of A-Rod cause he has it all cash, fame etc (ok no ring but there ins't anyone here who wouldn't seriously consider trading places with the guy). Im not a Yankee fan and even I can see this. So he isn't the greatest hitter in big spots he is still one of the best players in the game so that makes him far from a dud.

I think this is a slight misconepton. I think ( I may be wrong) but the year they lost to Boston (red sox world series year), he led the team in hitting in that series but was still ridiculed but most.

You could be right but public see him whiff in key moments to lose games. No one remembers when he does great and the Yankees still lose because he's still the "reason" why the Yankees lost.

This year will be different though. Yankees in 6 over the White Sox.

he's great, I love him. when the 2004 red sox were down and out and were fighting for their lives in games 4 and 5 vs the yankees, gay rod left about 143 people on base in scoring position in those games.

the 2004 red sox truly could not have done it without an assist from him and they didnt even have to pay him $25 million to get his help, it was free.

Hey Mr.Smith whats up man how ya been?

My dad (born and raised in Boston)is a huge
Red Sox fan and you are sounding just like him.
Trip out.

A-Rod is the best hitter in the league when the Yankees are ahead
8-0. Think his stock has gone down a little this year. Yankees need
em though w/o Shef and Matsu

ive watched alot of yankee games and as an everyday player he is an asset.

but put any sort of pressure on him to do something and he becomes an ordinary mlb player and your really not expecting to see that

he is like the opposite to michael jordan at the end of the game, jordan will do anything to win no matter what the obstacle - a-rod just seems to think it doesnt really matter this time -ill do it next time

There's always next year, like in 75, 90-93, 99 &

1. The MVP
2. Gold Glove at a NEW position

I'll go out on a limb here, and say the guy's ok.

His career isn't over yet so there's time for him to win a few WS rings and a couple more MVPs...The ridiculous 250 M dollar contract is part of the reason he's labeled as not living up.

If he never signed that huge contract and only signed for say 15-18 million a year he would be viewed in a whole different way. There was so much publicity when he signed that and people get a bad taste in there mouth when they think he is so selfish and just wants the money. But hey if my boss threw a 50k raise in my face when i wasn't worth it i would take it in a heartbeat

Maybe he is a top 3 player but if I was building a team I would much rather have David Wright as my 3b guy.
