Hey Bills,
What was the name of that bar on Chatauqua Lake that you could pull your boat up to? I remember it was rocking in the summer.

"The Casino?" that is probably the one you are referring too. There is a bunch of them in Bemus Point....."Italian Fisherman"......."Ceasar House"....."Snug Harbor Lounge." I dont drink do I? LOL Hey, did you ever go to Erie Downs when you lived in Erie?? I go there everytime I go back home!

Captain Carl :

I have been following your picks for quite some time now this season. One thing I always laugh about is you "I Gotta Learn To Stay Away From The Over/Under". You have now said that a few times, and for some reason failed to live by "your" code. The only reason I laugh about that is I'm stuck in the same "totals" rut where I tell myself over and over to stay away from.

But other than that, keep up the good work and look forward to many more picks.

I went to the Downs a bunch of times. It was funny because it was mostly a retired crowd, but they would pack them in. They are building another racetrack in Erie now, the Mountaineer, because they can put slots gambling in.
I think everyone in Erie gambled at some level or another. I miss the NFL coverage they had there, 1st rate coverage of the Bills, Browns and Steelers

Newman,
I was thinking about that myself. I think it bothers me that I can't get a handle on the over/unders like I should. I am a math guy at heart and the over/unders are like a siren song to me.
The same thing with the NFL, kick butt on the sides and mediocre at best on the over/unders.
What do you think makes you keep playing them as well?

Still a large, retired crowd. Had no idea about the new racetrack being built....Sure I will get there at some point. Your right, everyone in that WNY/PA region gambles. What else can you do in our snow belt region....

Bills,
You hit it right on the head, lots of savy gamblers there. Cold and snow = Gamblers! I think there will be a Bills/Browns scrimage there this year, maybe I'll see you there.
