I'm sorry but I had to ask. I enjoy watching soccer and betting on it. But I just can't stomach when these babies supposedly get injured. You would think by the expression on their faces that they had lost a limb! Then, mere seconds later, they are up and playing the game.

It's obvious that it's for the sympathy of getting a ruling against their opponent but come on! Do you have to carry on for 3 minutes? I realize there are some genuine injuries but if you are really injured it would be reflected in your play and 90% of the time it is not.

Can you imagine if a rugby player were to carry on like this when he was injured? He would be thrashed on the field.

Grow a set, soccer players. Quit whining like a little girl when somene challenges you.

i was just discussing this with FISH yesterday...they are the biggest pussies...they get knicked on the leg and instantly jump in the air and fall to the ground grabbing their knee. It's quite hilarious...quit being pussies and trying to get free kicks, red cards, etc. and get up and score a goal to help my over bet!!

You know I guess it's just the nature of the sport. Kids see the pros do it so when they get older they do it. And the cycle continues.

I guess a big soccer fan it comes with watching soccer. So i don't mind as much.

Whinging cry babies.

Glad to see the Mexican ejected for diving today. If a few more refs did this maybe the players wouldn't do it so much.

i laughed my ass off yesterday when gary payton decided to argue with a ref while play was going on and ended up turning the ball over.

The diving is a large part of soccer, unfortunately in my opinion, and I strongly believe that Americans who really give the sport a chance and try to appreciate it are often turned off by the showmanship. As for people who dismiss it out of hand, they're idiots to begin with.

I think it's akin to fighting in hockey and flopping in basketball; a part of the sport that is unfortunate and takes away from the game.

I was discussing this earlier with someone and it's a disease that crept in from south america to continental europe and now everyone does it. When i started following soccer in the early to mid 70's it wasn't like this at all but I did support the mighty Leeds.

The authorities do need to do something about it like booking/fining a player for over reacting. This could be done after the game even. Say if a player feigned injury for 3 minutes and was then completely fine 2 minutes later if he was booked and fined 1% of their annual salary they would soon stop.
