didn't take up soccer.

The USA would be a dominant world power in soccer at these World Cups.

If soccer was the ONLY sport like it is with some of these countries, the USA would dominate.

Lukily growing up in America we are able to enjoy baseball, football, golf, basketball, and an array of other great sports.

Stop selling the rest of the world short.

Last time I checked, the U.S. INVENTED basketball, yet now the rest of the world has caught up. Soccer has been around in the U.S. far longer than basketball has been around in the likes of Serbia, Germany, and Argentina...yet you don't here them bitching about how they wish their best athletes played bball instead of soccer.

That's like a Brazilian saying that if Ronaldhino, Ronaldo, Pele, etc. all played basketball instead of soccer, that Brazil would be a basketball powerhouse.

Very good athlete, but would have to think there would be others that would come to mind before Tim Dwight. Is he from Tampa and I just don't know it?

It was an example. OK, what if Argentina's best soccer players played basketball? They already beat our ass in basketball without them. Typical American trying to make himself feel better about why the U.S. isn't the best at something. Selling the rest of the world short just isn't right.

Hell I would love to see Ronaldhino in a Patriots' jersey...we need some help at Cornerback or Wide Reciever':suomi:

Would be even better if he grew up here...played some Pop Warner Football, HS Ball, & went on to play at a major university.

not selling the world short...just that, when growing up...soccer season was the same season as american football during the importanat high school years. I know in my area of the country...if you were a top caliber athlete, then you were playing american football.

thats the point i was making. you have to agree choosing soccer over the bigger sports in this country is in the minority?

While basketball was invented in the US a Canadian invented the sport.
