If you like to compete, poker is a great hobby. I've played for about 4 years and have had some pretty good success. I'll be at the World Seried this year.
I recommend it, but you have to learn how to play. Get a book, search the web, etc. Don't just sit down, lose your ass, then say "this game sucks."

As somebody who makes his living playing online poker, I agree that it gets old. There is no joy in it at all for me anymore outside of the occassional big tournament final tables (those are fun - big money will get that blood pumping for 1-2 hours straight). But playing cash games 4-5 tables at a time for 8 hours is a job and a grind. Still better than most jobs out there though. Sports betting is much funner and takes up a much smaller amount of your time - Though both of them can be equally stressful at times :nohead:
