Do you really think anything's gonna be changed because some disgruntled americans don't like the way the game is played or officiated? Fuck no. This is the world's sport, and 95% of Americans don't even care about soccer. The rest, like us, follow during the WC, and that's about it. Not even 1% of the U.S. population REALLY cares about the American soccer team.

The fact is the US scored a grand total of 1 goal in three matches. I was rooting (and betting) on them, but I just don't think they deserved to move on, even though their performance against Italy was gutsy and compelling.
Even without the penalty kick today the US would only have tied--and still been out.
It's too bad that practially every major sporting event nowadays (Super Bowl, NBA finals, etc...) seems to devolve into a "kill the ump" screamfest.
