No doubt they are homers but you know what, they're about 10 times more entertaining than most and they also know their stuff. They also recognize great players and acknowledge on other teams and when the White Sox get a big break they're quick to point it out.
At least they don't try and cover up the fact that they're fans too, unlike other homers who try not to reveal it. They're obvious about it and I totally disagree that they're sickening to listen to.
In my opinion, Vin Scully is the best, bar none, but these two guys, Hawk and I forget the other guys name are extremely knowledgable and exremely entertaining too.
Ya ever listen to Chip Carray? He sounds like he's calling a circus and uses every cliche in the book every night. He's sickening.
So is Joe Buck and Tim McCarver. McCarver tries to sound like he knows more than anyone else and all he does all game is point out the obvious.
Anyway, White Sox announcers are original, funny, entertaining and knowledgable and I think you're way off on this one.
Oh yeah, I'm not a White Sox fan either. I'm from Toronto where we have the best radio announcer in the business, Jerry Howarth.
Cheers
