I really like this play among 2 teams that are just not scoring of late. Oaklands last 3 games in Colorado saw them score only 3 runs in one game and get shut out the other 2 games!! When is the last time that Colorado has pitched 2 straight shutouts at home!!
In San Francisco's last 5 games, they have scored 3,3,2,1 and 1 runs. Jason Schmidt is on the hill for SF and he has a era of 2.84 for the year! But in his last 5 starts, he is even better at an era of 2.38. His mound opponent is pitching much better over his last 5 games with a 2.57 era. This one will be easy!! You cant get much hotter than Santana has been lately! He is 7-4 for the season with an era of 2.87. He has always been matched up against other staff aces so he has quite a few no decisions. But important to note is that the team is 11-4 in his starts! In his last 3 starts, the team is 3-0 and he has an era of 1.35. In Santana's last 4 starts he has given up 1 earned run in each of those games. In every start but 1 this year he has pitched at least 7 innings. Strangely enough, in that one start, he only pitched 5 innings, but left with only 1 run given up!
