Seriously?

I am sure you seen some cappers out there consisently betting
20 unit plays??

What is your opinion of these guys?
____________________________________________
Do you really think they are betting 20% of their bankroll?

Do you really think people are following their picks with
20% of their own income?

If they have a bankroll of abt 50K are they really wagering 10K
on one single game?

Do only squares bet 20 units on a game??

Bonus Question:
What do you think of cappers who bet 20+ units on
games where odds are -200

Would love your much appreciated thoughts on this one!

They have no chance to do anything other than go bust over the long run. But it's probably more like a short run, because they won't last long enough to be in the game over the long run.

"units" is a fairly meaningless measure.. I've seen peope say they operate with 100 unit banks, 500 unit banks, 5000 unit banks etc..

Isn't 1 unit generally used to mean 1% of bankroll?

Perhaps that's the US system.. A couple of the european tennis services I know of just seem to use 1unit=$100 when the "current" bankroll can be anything from 2.5k to 15k

Whatever happened to that Simpson boy from USC?

i generally view 1 unit = 100$. But i'm sure a unit means different things to different people.

I agree with Santo... Most people use its 1% of BR but too other it might just be used as a standard of measure.

A player might have like 50k BR and still only bet 350 a unit which is not 1%.

There is no rule that it has to be 1% or BR.

Of course there's no rule, but there's a, for the most part, common understanding.

There is 0 point in anyone posting their record, in units, if there isn't some commonality to the system.

To answer the question -- anyone betting that many units is an idiot destined to go bust.

It's just all hype. If you bet 20 units on every play and 50 units on a best bet it's like the average person betting 1-2 units or $1-2 per unit with those amounts of "units" on a game.

You know that is absolutely correct. Basball is sooo different than other sports.
I know i posted over 200 plays here and and only had about 12 more winners than loosers and the units were close to 20. But then again i played 90% doggies too.

Probably going to start posting again here next week as well. I will dig out the exact record then.

Well if you vary bets as much as 1 to 20 times 1 then its fine with me.

People that say you cannot win doing that or it is stupid or what not are flat out not people you should be paying attention to. It is a meaningless figure. Everyone has a different system and if anything one can be more sophisticated rating a play from 1-20 units than 1-5 units. It is all about figuring out that persons system. Doesn't make them stupid or silly, in fact it makes those claiming they are look stupid or silly.

If you are claiming that it is okay to bet 20% of your bankroll on one play, then you are the one that nobody should listen to. I'm not sure what you are trying to say here. If your units are much less than 1% of bankroll, that's one thing. But for most people on here, calling something a 20 unit play without additional disclaimers makes you look like a complete moron and nothing more.

The unit figure is only meaningful to each individual...I think gynecologist is asking 20% of a bankroll...if the guy bets 20 units every time so be it....It's when you have a guy claiming to bet 20 units on one play and 2 on the next is when you scratch your head.
