Looking to see if anyone knows where the fighters have been training since the show ended. I think that is huge (a huge negative for anyone not in a major camp that is).

Otherwise, looking to bet against those guys that quit oin the show.

Ealry thougths
Bisbing over haynes (haynes has no ground game)
Grove over herman (like the price, plus I thin kHerman is a punk)
Hammkil over Forbes (Forbes was 0-2 and quit vs Haynes, going out to a standing choke without an attempt at escape early in rd 2)
Can't take Starnes or Singer since they both quit (Starnes gets hit in the ribs and thought he broke them, yeah right --- Singer gave up the rear naked choke on purpose), even though they are better fighters than their opponents. Will take Pointon and Abbadi for only 1/2 units.

Any thoughts?

knowing how the mma game is, i'd take the favorites on almost every fight for this card. the only dogs i might realistically take are pointon and florian. pointon, just because he has a good puncher's chance to land a big blow and florian because of his razor sharp elbows that could end a fight early (if he actually has a standup battle with stout, he'll get knocked the f out).

as for starnes, he's a solid fighter. when they first originally announced the the competitors for TUF3, many of the hardcore mma fans predicted bisping and either starnes or herman to win it. as for starne's rib injury, here's a quote from the man himself taken from an mma forum:

"The injury I suffered was a costo-chondral seperation, as two of my ribs were torn off of the catilage of my sternum one more severley than the other, and it will never be the same as bone and cartilage do not grow back together so easily. Most people are unfamilliar with this type of injury, which takes longer to heal than broken ribs. For two weeks I could not sleep on my sides and it took approximately 10 weeks before I could do a single sit-up."

The guy was undefeated before this injury, and anyone who knows mma knows that the matchup between him and abbadi is almost laughable. it's almost as if the ufc wants to see starnes demolish someone to jump start his career as he was heavily favored in the show to be "someone". it's even gone so far that fans have joked that the only way to make this match fair would be to have kalib starnes vs. danny abbadi and mike stine in a handicap match. :missingte it's apparent given starnes has the largest odds of winning out of all the matchups.

Thanks for the update.
I have made a little on every card, just like you said by mostly playing the favorites (but judiciously).

Would love to see the handicap match. Like yiou said, MMA/UFC is not fixed, but they can set up the matches to favor I guy winning.

Gotta get ready for the swim meet.

was on pretty much the same as you:

Bisping
Grove
Hammil
Pointon

the Grove-Herman fight was absolutely fantastic - watched it again today and it was really too close to call IMO

would have LOVED to see a Hammill-Bisping match in the finals. Both totally dominated their respective matches last night

Look for Hamel vs Bisning by the late summer (tv fight).

I almost lost big time, was going to et against nickels, but I did not know the other guy. Glad I didn't.

Not sure I agree with giving Ed a contract, but its their money. Where else was he going to go?
