Juan Pierre hands down wins this title......I can't understand why he's even in the majors.

he is probably the hardest working player though...

i think Marcus Giles takes the cake (as being the worst lead-off hitter)

I'd put Chone Figgins up against him this year, crappy BA and never takes a walk.

I think Figgins and Pierre are best friends..only fitting that they are the two worst in their batting order.

Someone should teach them taking a walk is not a bad thing. With their speed a walk turns into a double a great deal of the time.
I miss the days of Ricky Henderson and Tim Raines, hell i'd take Vince Coleman over those two.

Everytime Pierre comes up, it's an automatic out.... 241 lead off hitter will not help your team score runs...

I attribute Giles and Rollins falling into this category b/c lead off isn't their natural spot in the line-up...they are batting there by necessity, or in Rollins case, stupidity of the manager. Abreau should be the Phillies lead off, but he refuses to hit there.

As terrific a leadoff hitter Coleman was, Rickey was the *greatest* leadoff batters of all time.

Doesn't Frucal lead off?..better suited as a 2 spot hitter then lead off
your right furcal is the leadoff hitter. you needed to look close to see that this started as a 2006 thread.

marcus giles back in padres lineup tonite after being rested cause he's not doing s---. brian giles is the new leadoff hitter and is doing great, lots of walks & hits.

I was the one who started it.....so I think it was dig at what I thought over a year ago..at the time I thought he was..he ended up getting 200 hits for a Cub team last season that lost a ton of games.

i like juan pierre. he's not the best player in the world. he has a ring, so in my opinion, he has balls, and can do something good in a real big spot.

HAHAHA, are you joking? Figgins broke some record for most hits in a month in Angels history and has been on fire the past couple months
