RAG-Armahausen at it again...

Best closer in baseball...

Probably will be on the All-Star team...

Looks like 9 mill per year just does not go very far these days.

Question is...

How does this donkey have 24 saves right now?

Leads all of MLB...

Pathetic closer.

lots of chances with the Cards & the weak NL

several blown games already by Iggy.

There are still a few legit lock down closers, but not many. I think managers should just leave in a hot pitcher a little more often, especially if his closer ain't named Papelbon.

Agree 100 %. Too often have I seen a manager take out a pitcher when he truly doesn't have a better option, just following the formula. Why is 100 pitches the benchmark? Seriously? It's nothing more than an arbitrarty number. If a guy has 100 pitches going intro the 7th in a close game, and gives up a single or walks a batter, he almost always is taken out. Most bullpens are shakey at best. Managing takes on its true form in these instances, IMO.

Jason Isringhausen is back with the Mets more than a decade after leaving New York in a trade.
New York purchased the contract of the veteran right-hander after Sunday's game and designated reliever Blaine Boyer for assignment.

Boyer allowed four runs in the 11th inning Sunday, three on a pinch-hit three-run homer by the Washington Nationals' Laynce Nix. Boyer had a 10.80 ERA in five appearances with New York.
Isringhausen, 38, began the season in extended spring training to build arm strength. He was signed to a minor league contract prior to the start of training camp but was still working his way back from 2009 elbow surgery. He pitched well enough to be in contention with Boyer for the final spot on the opening day pitching staff.
New York dealt Isringhausen to the Oakland Athletics at the July 31 deadline in 1999. He became a top closer for the A’s and St. Louis Cardinals before injuries limited his effectiveness.
The Mets also recalled right-hander Ryota Igarashi from Class AAA Buffalo on Sunday and optioned outfielder Lucas Duda to Buffalo. The move gives the Mets 13 pitchers on their staff.
