It is simply the most anticipated sport PERIOD. They more folks that watch the sport the more that are going to bet on it. And the more people betting on anything means more money lost than anything.

Some of my guy friends and I (my girlfriends tell me to STFU when I mention football) had a good long chat about this year's prospects the other day ... that kind of conversation makes my legs twitch! We chatted a bit, even, about regular season win totals, and I convinced a few of them to start gambling offshore when the time comes.

I can't wait!

I think the reason a majority of people lose in betting football is their propensity to bet parlays...parlay bets seem to occur more in football than any other sport...the wiseguys play the straight games though...I can't wait for the season either!... :dancefool

Becuase many poeple let things cloud their judgement in football. and then there is the NFL. Last year was the year of the chalk in the NFL so many players held their own in the NFL. But this is an ALL new upcomeing NFL, which that well take its toll on the square.

Football is difficult because they wear helmets and faceguards. And since you can't get a good look at their face, it's difficult to know what they're thinkin'.

Its the combinations that effect the outcomes of most wagers..parlays, teasers, reverses, the player always looking for the edge..The game oozes gambling..The props are also so vast, that as long as the human element is still involved, I like the books chances..
