Check out the game on ESPN right now and look at ALL the empty seats in the stadium.

What an embarrassing representation.

OMG, there may be less than 10,000 fans in the stadium right now.

I was there for the KC game that got rain and I think more people stayed in the ninth of that game than tonights.

Thinking of driving over and catching the last two innings.

Just kidding. Couldn't get me off the couch to change the channel let alone go to the game.

I'm only 15 min away at this time of night. Could do it.

David Ortiz and Manny Ramirez smile more often in one game than Bernie Williams, Jason Giambi, and AROD do combined for the entire year.

The Yankees are a team of robots that will remain without a championship this century.

Long day of baseball for those fans. And short notice to boot against a terrible drawing team. Most probably went as planned this afternoon and didn't want to make a day of it. Not surprising at all given it is the Marlins.

Would this samething occur at Fenway if the Red Sox were at the same spot in the standings at this time of year.

My guess is a resounding NO!

see we people in NY have better things to do then spend our whole day at yankee staduim. Do you people realize that a decent % of that staduim is season ticket holders. I know people from florida may not think that a baseball team can sell more then 10 season tickets a year. Listen would you want to spend your whole day sitting at yankee staduim. HELL NO.

And who gives two shits about watching a minor league team in nasty rainy day in NY. I am sorry but the marlins or tampa would be lucky to get 7,000 a game and you are here talking shit about yankee attendence. Lets talk about attendance in the city you live in. Oh wait soon you won't have a team.

Listen I know you are jealous and only wished you could be a fan of a team like NY.

Fish this is a weak arguement, in reality.

that is an understatement. Its a day night doubleheader announced only hours ago and during some of the ugliest weather in NY this weekend. Many parts of NY are actually pretty flooded from all the rain the last few days. It rained for large parts of today and many fans simply didnt want to risk driving out to yankee stadium for a potential rain out.

not to mention yankee stadium holds about 18,000 more fans so the stadium will always look less full in a situation like this.

You can attack yankee fans for alot of things, but this is pretty weak.
