Small card today, but a very good one I think. I wouldnt be suprised if EVERY game goes under today!

1. Boston -1.5 runs +116 2 units

Boston has won 8 games in a row.EACH OF THOSE GAMES WERE BY 2 OR MORE RUNS!! I HAVE NEVER SEEN SOMETHING SUCH AS THAT! Usually a team will win one or 2 games by 1 run in a winning streak! The opposite could be said of the Phillies. They have lost 4 games in a row, each of which were lost by 2 or more runs. They have lost 10 out of their last 12 games overall and in only 1 GAME did they only lose by 1 run! We clearly have the better team here. This is like stealing!!

Tim Wakefield is on the mound for Boston. He is a great daytime pitcher. He is 2-1 with a 0.78 era in day games. He is also a better pitcher at home with a 3-3 record and a decent 2.84 era. In Wakefields last 5 starts, he has not given up more than 3 runs in any game including a masterpiece (in his standards) in his last start. He pitched 6 strong innings while only giving up 4 hits and only walking 1 batter! He only gave up 1 run as well. In his last start against the Phillies last year, he looked marvelous by pitching 8 complete innings and only giving up 2 hits while earning the shutout victory. Against a struggling Phillies team, he will look like Cy Young!

Cory Lidle takes the mound for Philly. He was hit pretty hard in his last 2 starts by giving up 4 and 5 earned runs. Also, he is NOT a pitcher that can pitch very many innings. Lidle has not pitched more than 6 innings all year long!!! Easy call here!!

2. Detroit Tigers -157 2 units

Now I am actually betting this play at the runline of -1.5 runs and the +++134 juice!! But just to be safe here, you may want to just take the Tigers to win since they are at home! Lets look at this matchup closely since my next pick is dependent on this information as well. Detroit is one of the hottest teams in baseball right now. They have won 3 in a row and 9 of 10 and and 13 of 15. It is hard to beat those numbers even BEFORE we look at the pitching matchup!

Rookie Phenom Zach Minor is on the hill for the Tigers! He has been outstanding since taking the hill earlier this year. His record is 3-0 and he has era is 1.23. He has pitched 4 starts and hasnt given up more than 3 runs yet. Hell, he gave up 3 runs once, the other starts he gave up 1, 0 and 2 runs. His start where he gave up 3 runs was the first of the year! HE has since been awesone since then. In his last start, he pitched 9 complete innings for a 5 hit complete game where he only gave up 1 run!! In his previous start before that one, he pitched 7 scoreless innings! For some reason, 3 of 4 starts have been during the day. But in his only night start, he pitched a complete game!!

Wandy Rodriguez is on the hill for Houston. He has looked very good at times this season. His record is 8-4 with an era of 4.45. But that era is a bit deceptive in my view and this is the main reason why I cant take tell you to take the runline in this spot. The era is deceiving because of 1 start where he gave up 7 runs in 1.1 innings on one start and 6 runs in 3.2 innings in another start. But none of this should matter too much seeing how much the Tigers have been. In contrast, the Astros are a sinking ship of late! The Astros have only won 3 of their last 10 games and only won 1 game against KC at home!!

3. Detroit wayyyyyy under 9.5 runs 3 units

Now this pick may suprise you since every square in the world will take the Astros over in this spot seeing how they have been scoring runs lately. But I FIRMLY believe that Minor will pitch a shuout in this spot or at least give up no more than 2 runs!! The Astros will be a bit tired from the game last night, so that may effect their hitting. Check out the pick above for all of the stats for this game.

4. Milwaukee -122 3 units with Capuano conditional

This is a really NICE PLAY at the odds. I would take this play even if the odds were -160, at this price it is just an early Christmas Present.

First of all, the Chicago Cubs are playing absolutely HORRID of late. They have lost 3 games in a row and 10 games out of 12. They have been getting KILLED in these starts!! In all 12 games, they could only score more than 3 runs on one occasion. In their last 3 games, they have only scored 3 total runs! Maddux is on the hill for the Cubs and he has been roughed up of late. In his last 7 starts he has given up 4,5,2,6,3,6 and 6 runs.

Milwaukee has Capuano on the hill. He has a record of 8-4 for the season and his era is 3.33. In Capuano's last 10 starts, he has given up more than 3 runs only on one occassion. Now that is consistent. Also not including in the last stat is the fact that his last start against Chicago came back in April where he pitched a 5 hit complete game shutout! He didnt walk any batter in that game.

Brewers are 3-0 in Capuano's last 3 starts after allowing 5 runs or more in their previous game.
Brewers are 4-0 in Capuano's last 4 starts.
Brewers are 4-0 in Capuano's last 4 starts on Grass.
Brewers are 3-0 in Capuano's last 3 starts following a Quality Start in his last appearance.
Brewers are 3-0 in Capuano's last 3 night starts.
Brewers are 4-0 in Capuano's last 4 starts during game 1 of a series.
Brewers are 3-0 in Capuano's last 3 starts as a favorite.
Brewers are 3-0 in Capuano's last 3 starts with 4 days of rest.
Brewers are 4-1 in Capuano's last 5 starts when their opponent scores 2 runs or less in their previous game.
Brewers are 4-1 in Capuano's last 5 starts vs. National League Central.
Brewers are 12-3 in Capuano's last 15 starts when their opponent allows 5 runs or more in their previous game.
Brewers are 8-3 in Capuano's last 11 starts as a favorite of -110 to -150.
Cubs are 2-8 in their last 10 when their opponent scores 2 runs or less in their previous game.
Cubs are 1-4 in their last 5 during game 1 of a series.
Cubs are 1-4 in their last 5 after scoring 2 runs or less in their previous game.
Cubs are 1-5 in their last 6 games vs. a left-handed starter.
Cubs are 0-4 in their last 4 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400.
Cubs are 0-3 in their last 3 vs. National League Central.
Cubs are 0-12 in their last 12 games as a home underdog.
Cubs are 0-8 in their last 8 games as a home underdog of +110 to +150.
Cubs are 5-11 in Maddux's last 16 home starts.
Cubs are 3-10 in Maddux's last 13 starts vs. a team with a losing record.
Cubs are 2-8 in Maddux's last 10 starts.
Cubs are 2-8 in Maddux's last 10 starts on Grass.
Cubs are 1-5 in Maddux's last 6 starts as an underdog.
Cubs are 1-6 in Maddux's last 7 starts following a team loss in their previous game.
Cubs are 1-6 in Maddux's last 7 starts when their opponent allows 5 runs or more in their previous game.
Cubs are 1-8 in Maddux's last 9 starts after allowing 5 runs or more in their previous game.
Cubs are 1-10 in Maddux's last 11 home starts vs. a team with a losing record.

5. Tampa Bay under 7.5 runs 2 units

This would be a 3 unit play if they could have just given us an 8 run total. At 7.5 betting an under is pretty rough, but it is the right play.

Shields gets the call for Tampa bay. His record is 4-0 with an era of 3.00. But he actually a little better than that. The numbers above include his first start of the season where he wasnt sharp and he gave up 5 runs in 5 innings. But since that start, he has been dominate. 2 of his starts were shutouts! His other 2 starts saw him give up only 2 and 3 runs. Tampa as a team has a 5 game under streak.

Jason Johnson gets the call for Florida. Johnson is 6-4 for the year with an incredible 2.00 era!! My guess is that not too many people are aware of that fact! In his last 3 starts, his era is .96. In his last 10 starts, he has NOT given up more than 2 earned runs except for one occassion where he slumped and gave up 3 earned runs!!

If I have EVER seen a 1-0 extra inning game, then it would be this one!!

6. Colorado wayyyyy under 8 runs 3 units

Jason Jennings is on the hill for Colorado in this spot. In his last 2 starts, he hasnt given up a single run! He pitched a one hit shutout in his last start! He also has a 2 hit complete game shutout earlier this season! For that matter, he also has another complete game shutout where he only gave up 7 hits! A shutout in this game would not be unexpected by me!

Not to be outdone, John Lackey takes the hill for Anaheim. In his last 2 starts, he gave up 1 run in 7 innings of work in one start and NO RUNS in 7 innings of work in the other start! Back on June 4th, he pitched great by not giving up a run in 7 innings of work!!

This one is like stealing!!

7. Colorado +146 1 unit

Obviously, Jennings would have to be conditional here, but checking the data above would make you believe that the WRONG team is favored here! Bet it early, as everyone and their dead grandmother will be on Colorado in this spot! Or at least anyone who has actually checked and handicapped the game!!

No trends even needed here!!

Thanks for the extensive write ups. That must have taken some effort.

I will tail on the Det under and Angels under.

Good luck with all of your plays.

I am loving that MIL play...I actually think the line is somewhat in favor of Lee's return, but I don't see him as being an instant savior....good luck.

Actually the line is killing me right now! I bet it at the -122 and now it is lower!

Oh well, it is still the right play

Where'd you get Detroit Under 9.5? And what's the juice on that play?

GL, I'm on it as well.

Crap! Phillies get 5 runs on 2 hits. Sorry PO, I'll never do that to you again.

The line was 9.5 last night when I checked most of the books. But specifically it was at sportsbook.com. The line was maybe -115 I think, but it wasnt very high
