Wanted to post this quickly as lines have been out about 20 minutes and there has been significant movement already. Will be back later with my thoughts and reasoning on the game.

Promised to return with my thoughts on tonight's championship game. Often in championship sports, ability, character, momentum, and the refuse to lose attitude determine which team will win the outcome. In last night's game, we saw this in full display as Oregon State fell behind 5-0 yet responded with 7 runs in the bottom of the 4th inning, opened the lead to 11-5 before Gunderson, pitching the last 5 innings, closed the game out 11-7. The Beavers have showed this character throughout this College World Series after losing their first game to Miami 11-1, they have won 5 straight elimination games showing the refuse to lose attitude. Meanwhile, North Carolina came into last night's game undefeated in this Series at 4-0 and when leading 5-0 were emotionally on their way to the championship only to be stunned by not just the Beaver onslaught but their own defensive collapse as they made mental mistake after mistake. This will be the first elimination game that North Carolina will face in this Series. Momentum to the Beavers. Also, it is clear that the Beavers defensively are superior to the Tarheels in this match-up. Tonight we have two excellent pitchers going for both teams but in the end it will be character that wins this championship and that belongs to the Beavers. Hence,

1* Oregon State +134 (Pinnacle)

Year To Date Record: 4-0 (+5.39)

On 'em as today as well as yesterday, GL and congrats on a great CWS run, regardless of tonight's outcome.

Ted, you took the words out of my mouth.

I'll be sure to give you some more confidence in your selection a bit later as I like the Beavers myself. Not even sure how much to hedge at this point, might just keep it small.

Thanks for the write-up and good luck.

Good minds think alike whether they be young and old. I've learned from your knowledge of these CWS teams and watched carefully and applied my own experience in keys to winning performances, particularly championships. As for your hedging, thought you might decide to keep at least some action on the Beavers tonight after last night. Do whatever is best for you. Enjoy!

Damn, down to +117... Still feel there is any value there?

Johnny B:

+120 available at WSEX

As for value, believe the Beavers have all the edges going into this game and although some value has been lost, still getting plus on your money in this spot is still more then fair.

Any team has value that's going to win.

I agree totally with how you see this, Ted. I think Oregon St has won the hearts of most of us, and I think they win the College World Championship tonight.

Best of luck to you, and to all of us.

Always hate being on the opposite side with you my friend. Based on the amount you wagered on the future, if I were you, I would hold as well. At least one of us will cash tonight.

SSI, just to be backing a team who has made it all the way to the championship game is great capping. You are already a winner in my book.

Congrats Ted. Excellent run on the CWS. Your insight was right on. Looking forward to see who you have for the WC tomorrow. Man Switzerland were terrible in PK's. I've never seen anyone not make a single PK. Unreal.
