What a gaff to give up the lead in the bottom of the 8th.

Jeez, routine ground ball.....it doesn't get much more basic than that.

Blame the coach he sholud have taken Bard out when he went to the mound the first time, he brings in Miller at that point and I doubt they score that inning. HUGE mistake on the coach.

Bad throw, but why not go off the bag and at least hold the lead runner. And I agree Miller comes in earlier and its a different story

That 1st baseman looked like he was stuck in quicksand trying to reach that ball. He has to get off the bag and block that throw.

he was running to the bag. he was playing deep behind the bag to prevent any seeing eye singles. so when he ran to the bag, he was still in the process of running and the ball was thrown behind him, so he tried to stop on the dime, but thats all he could do was stop. he couldnt go backwards while going forwards.

I blame the coach for even going out to the mound in the first place. Bard is a headcase, and the kid was absolutely mowing them down. He had 2 quick outs, he was feeling awesome, then with 2 outs, why does the coach even come out to the mound. He screwed up his rhythm. Bard goes from on top of the world confident, not even thinking, just mowing people down, to suddenly fighting with his coach to convince him to stay in the game.

You knew when you saw that loser Roy Williams in the stand the Beavers would win.
