I posted a "fade the Cubs vs. the lefties" thread yesterday and it worked out, so let's trot it out again. This matchup has the O's who are second to last in OPS vs. lefties, against the Phils who are ranked 20th. Both teams face lefties tomorrow night. I don't have a strong opinion on the side, but the first half total of 5.5 (-122 @ Pinny) seems really attractive. The Phils hit southpaws better than the O's but that is balanced out by the fact that Bedard is dealing now. He's put up ER totals of 0,3,2, and 3 over his last four, and he's struck out 26 over his last 3 starts. Hamels is a hot shot prospect coming off a 2ER performance vs. the Yanks. He's inconsistent, but like I said, the O's are PUTRID against lefties. Even if they get to the kid a little, I more than expect Bedard to hold up his end of the bargain and keep the scoring total down in the first half. GL all
