That team had no right hanging with a team as good as the 1986 Red Sox...............at least the right team won the ALCS that year.

pitching was not to shabby though..they came up with some big wins when they needed them....then at the end it all fell apart

Led the majors in walks I think so where among the best in the category which really counts, on-base percentage. Smart team. Bullpen was weakest link.

They had a very good staff...Sutton, Mike Witt, Kirk McCaskill, even John Candelaria these starters combined to go 60-33, this team could pitch , 3 excellent starters.

I was going to mention that too...they had a veteran team that took plenty of walks...Bos avg 4.93 RPG Cal 4.85 RPG
