If you have never been dont stay there but do eat at the top of the world resturant. Great view and a good dinner at high end prices 70/85 equals the best dinner and show in Vegas. The top shows all want to see by compairson
start at a 100. You know what that means.

The best time to go is at twilight so time it well and do not be late. It is not as easy to get to as you would think if you are not staying there. They dont do late well as many walk ups are just dying to get in.

Not a bad place to stay if you have a car, but definitely not the place to go and walk from. Long distance to other casinos and not a great area either. But the facilities are fair, the book is top notch for Vegas, and the selection of video poker is the best you will find on the Strip. Not that crowded either. Once again just make sure you get a car.

the strat is really a boring place. i wont be back there. if you want to see something really frightening drive around the back of the hotel. i cant imagine more dangerous places to be day or night! it really is in a very bad location.you cant walk many places and fremont street is 15 minutes away by car or cab.same with the major places like mirage and venetian.

i stayed last nov on a last minute book for a busy weekend. its like purgatory. in the middle from the heavenly hotels and the people in the hellhole of downtown.

actually went up the observatory tower but vegas sucks to look at during the day. didnt do the rides.

super heavy smoking in the book. had to place bets and watch em in the room.

didnt play tables.

was glad my car was still there in the morning and the lady didnt get assaulted while we were there.

I don't know about all the negativity. You can go just outside the hotel and watch whores on rollerblades troll for johns. (Well, it's better than the damn circuses some of the casinos stage.)

You guys have no idea how bad this is going to be.

Poor Dante is going to wake up and freak out

:smoking: I had no idea it was that bad there (but was only there once about 8 years ago). Figured it was a good place to avoid being a pseudo Circus-Circus.

The Strat itself is not bad. It's not the glamour of the strip, but I think it's a pretty good hotel & casino. The kids will probably love the observation deck and the couple of rides they have on the roof.

Can't speak for the neighborhood, but I didn't notice anything bad "out front".

Just be glad it is not the Sahara. Dont think there is a place that needs to be demolished more than that one.

DANTE--Dont let these posters scare you, it is not that scary/bad of area as long as one stays on the STRIP side.

The bad area is directly in back of the hotel..........as it is the biggest DRUG area in the entire valley........and sure many dealers/pimps make their way to the hotel and the strip side but its not that bad unless your in the BACK area after dusk with nobody else around but these degenerates and hoodlums.

Obviously not near as nice as the main strip, but what the hell.............I survived 17 years on the STREETS of this city literally and many times in this very area and survived........so you can survive a short stint there with no problems.
