That's right folks. I told everyone in my office to leave me alone after noon EDT because after I finished up today's baseball, it's going to be six full hours of Phil 'The Thrill' Steele reading.

So while I got some money on the basepaths today, I prolly won't watch much of the baseball because it's time to start crunching numbers in the college footsies...

Yesterday ho-hum. Nice job fucking Brewers, thanks Ned for letting your pitcher rot out there while Eddings helplessly watched the total go from 2 to 9 in the eighth. Lost 535 on a 2-3-1 day. Now 163-193-7 and down 2630 for season.

Onto the small card, with small writeups. I haven't had many strong opinions this week and it's not changing today either.

On principle alone I would like to bet against Geremi Gonzalez. What kind of jackass changes his spelling from Jeremi (no offense to any Jeremis or Geremis out there haha) to Geremi??? It's already wrong to begin with, can you at least fix it and get it right? Who does this guy think he is, 'The Artist Formerly Known as Geremi'??

I'm playing the Flubs more on the fact that they finally broke the streak, Lee finally went yay-yay and Prior was more Prior-like last time. This price would be closer to 200 if people were convinced he was healthy. I'm not but I think they will win by a comfortable margin.

The plays: Chubs -1.5 runs plus 142 - 500 to win 710

A-Train decided to stop hitting here as of late. Won't be easy to get back on track today against Peavy, who was very impressive last time and it might be that he's getting over his tendinitis. Oakland has been held to one run or less in four of its last eight. Haren gave up four runs in a season-low five innings last time and I'm willing to throw that one out. Obviously he didn't have it, walking five on a day where, beforehand, in his first 15 starts he had not walked more than two. Haren's ERA vs. Diego is 0.90 in two appearances. Not a big fan of getting off the A-Train so I'll make a small play there but with Timmons behind the plate (last four OAK all UNDER and 0-4-1 last five SDG totals to UNDER), we're getting a guy who will help these solild pitchers.

The plays: Oakland plus 112 - 400 to win 448

UNDER 7.5 runs -115 - 805 to win 700

See value on Patterson and I know what he can do when right but the Senators have burnt me enough the last week and a half. Let them win one before they get any more of my money.

Something's gotta give in Boston tonight. Glavine has more wins than anyone in baseball and Mets have won last 11 times he threw the first pitch for them; Boston has won 11 in a row overall and beaten the absolute dogshit out of them two straight in the series. Milledge's struggles in left continued last night and the Mets twice left them loaded Tuesday against rookie Lester but I think this is their spot to break out and win one. New York still leads East by a dozen and the primary reason why is that they have not lost more than two straight all season. A win here tonight would go a long way to validate them as a legitimate contender to win the NL and the whole thing; thinking they will take that seriously and want to show everyone that's the case. Glavine tamed a Toronto lineup that was the best in the majors vs. LHP last time out and he'll probably go about his business of doing the same tonight. Price is overly generous considering Schilling hasn't won since June 8.

THe play: Mets +145 - 400 to win 580

Blood said it best:

"Lopez is 4-0, 4.23 in his last six starts while Madson is 1-2, 12.15 in his last three starts. If the O’s are favored watch out, they’ve delivered at a 26-11 clip for +11.4 units in 2006."

Phils gone into tank since wife-beating incident but they were headed down wrong road long before that. Just not a very good team right now and it always seems like BAL has one of those mystifying 10 game winning streaks about this time of year every year after stinking up the joint the first 2-3 months lol....

The play: Baltimore -132 - 660 to win 500

Also more of a bet against Zona than ON Seattle but look at what M's have done in IL play compared to what Snakes have done since they left Atlanta.

The play: Mariners -136 - 680 to win 500

Good luck fellas. Back to Phil "The Thrill"
