if it were up to you?

Come on guys, think long and hard how much you're willing to pay for a guy who averages 7 ppg and looks very scary at the free throw line.

He'll get around 12 million a year for 5 years from somebody. He actually plays Defence when so while he is 32 someone will open up the vault for him.

He's not worth the max or anywhere near it...good rebounder and defender(not great), as much a product of being in a great system with other good defenders as much as it was a product of his hard work and determination.

Having said that, it doesn't matter how much we'd pay him, because some team(Bulls or someone else) will foolishly give him the max.

Detroit will miss him if he walks, though.

Not only that, dont think any other team will be able to use him properly. Remember the Wiz had him sitting on the shelf for a minute not doing anything and now trying to get him back *thumbs down*

Actually what Detroit offered isnt the max. Sure the Pax will try to offer more.

Ben looked old and tired in that Cavalier and Heat series...He'll be 32..I think his better days are behind him.

A guy that runs and busts ass like Big Ben does is gonna have shorter life than guards 1, 2's and 3's who carry less weight and bang less. That being said I believe this will be his last contract and he will make whoever comes after him pay dearly for it.

Me I would give him 4 years 20 mill. He will probably get 6 for 36 or so.

I'm sure Skiles is on Paxsons dick right now trying whatever necessary to sign Big Ben. I'm hearing reports Bulls have offered everything but oral sex to Wallace for 4 years, not 5.

Which makes me think, if Big Ben is wearing a Bulls uniform next season, the rest of the Eastern Conference should just give up, that includes the Miami Heat.

Bulls need to do what ever it takes to sign him. Bulls used to have a player just like him who helped them to three titles by doing the little things and rebound in his mid-30's - Dennis Rodman.

Don't forget if they get him, it is a double hit as it weakens their biggest competitor too. It will take 12$ Mil + to get him.

Just read the sports section of Detroit News & Free Press online looking for info. Current reports have it pretty much between Chicago and Detroit to sign him with Atlanta, Charlotte, Toronto and Phily with slim chances.

Dumars wants to make Wallace the highest paid Piston and the latest deal is 3 or 4 years at 11 to 12 mil from Detroit. Skiles and Paxson flew into Detroit to have talks with Tellum (agent) and Wallace and are prepared to offer up to 5 years and 70 million for Wallace's services. Phily has also put in a coutrtesy call just to touch base in hopes of a possible sign and trade, but I don't see that happening.

So it looks like it will be whether or not Ben wants to pick up and move his wife and kids and move on to Chicago as they have a young core group of players that could really use an intense guy on defense or if he wants to remain loyal to Detroit as he has said in the past. It's up to him as he knows what the Pistons can offer, which would be making him the highest paid Piston or leave for the bigger money.

Detroit- 4 yr- 12 per yr
Chicago- 5 yr- 14 mil per

Like Rodman he doesn't need to score to bring tremdous value to his team...He wouldn't be as effective in certain cities.

if these numbers are accurate, id be shocked if he didnt take 70 mill over 48 mill... if he does jump ship to chicago they would have tremendous value at +4000 to win the nba championship... i think they are a player of wallaces caliber away from having a legitimate shot... just an opinion though
