Well there are many stupid things about the sport, but let me focus on one that piss alot of people off!

What in the HELL is the deal with stoppage time??? I mean only the official knows for SURE exactly how much time is left. I understand about stopping the clock for injuries and goals. But would it would that hard for the official to make a hand gesture to the scorekeeper each time when to start and stop the clock??

Then EVERYONE will know exactly how much time is left!!! It would make it a little more enjoyable if you ask me knowing exactly when the game is over. The other day, in the course of action, it took 1 minute for the referee to notify that there would be 4 minutes of stoppage time!

ABSOLUTELY the dumbest thing in sports if you ask me that we cant have the official time on the scoreboard somewhere!!

Another thing that could be changed would be to add another referee if possible. Would it change the game that much to have an extra referee on the field??

The one ref on the field gets in the way enough...the two linesmen are plenty of help.

One referee is probably enough, but would it kill anyone to have 2??

...and while we're at it why not 3 points for a goal and one point for a corner. Oh and 5 points for a penalty kick that scores. Hmm, why not a half point for each free kick?

I know that this next statement will generate the usual comments in relation to offsides in football, but I will make it anyway.

I also HATE the offsides rule. If I want to hang out by the opposing goalie then I should be able to no matter what. If you dont like it, then have someone guard me!!

That would destroy the game. There would be little skill left in the games and no crisp passing, everyone would try to clear to the striker in front of the goal for an easy putaway. There is a reason that we have offsides in football and hockey, why does no one ever talk about how bad those rules are? Because the games would water down tremendously.

How many anti soccer threads need to be started before posters relize this? As stated in another thread the rest of the world will not change american sports fans opinions of soccer and we will never change theirs.

The only way soccer will ever thrive in the U.S is when talented young american athletes choose to play soccer instead of basketball and football, and that will not happen in my lifetime

Give it up PO69 flaming is not your talent, your better suited for "capping" contest with $100 grand prizes. BTW are you posting from the Astro game? LOL what a fool.

Anyway this was a brilliant post compaired to your "Is George the boss too cheap to put names on the Jersey" That was priceless:103631605 I'll get back to the "shuffelboard" and the "trailor park" and I'll let you get back to brainstorming your next innovative post on how to change sports:toast:

I'd rather watch a 0-0 in soccer than a 128-126 in the NBA anyday of the week.

We already know this game is ending 0-0...very exciting.

And be decided by PK to me the group games seemed more entertaining

Some sports writer suggested once the game goes into OT, play 10-10 and the every 5 minutes if no goal scored a man from each team comes off the field when you got down to 5-5 or 3-3 would be pretty exciting that would be alot better way to decide a game then PK.

And maybe make the first 90 minutes more entertaining

I dont remember talking about George being cheap! I just remember making the posts asking why they cant put the names on the jerseys! I was specifically referring to the Dodgers that night
