Angels
If Escobar of the Angels was given just a little run support in his last 8 starts, he might have won 7 of those games instead of losing. In those last 8 starts, he has allowed 3 runs or less in 6 of those. He finally got some runs his last start and beat the Dodgers 9-2. Now he takes the hill at Oakland where he faces an A's team that he has had some great success against. His last 2 starts against them he has allowed just 3 runs his last 13 innings. Loaiza is done. I said it last year and I will say it again, this guy is finished. He is 3-5 with an era of 6.39 and over his last 3 starts he is 1-2 allowing 15 runs his last 20 innings. Angels are playing their best ball of the year having just went up to Seattle and sweeping the red hot Mariners for their 5th straight win. I look for Escobar, who started this winning streak last Saturday, to get it to 6 games tonight. Angels stay hot in Oakland.

The Cards are not winning because they have no pitching. Every guy in that rotation is getting hit with exception of Carpenter. Now Ponson gets his chance to get ripped and the Astros will do just that. You look at Ponson over the last 3 starts and two of them were of collapses on Titanic porportions. At Pittsburgh lasting just 3 innings giving up 6 runs and last time out at home to the worst team in baseball, the Royals. They crushed him for 6 runs in 3 innings as well. Astros have been playing very well despite not hitting Marshall of the Cubs last night and I will back Buchholz tonight. He comes off 7 shutout innings at Texas and in his last 19 innings, just 6 runs. Astros are the play over the slumping Cards. Get on Houston.
