Ugggggggghh.

Had about $20 left in my Party Poker account last night, hadn't played in some time cause of a new job, wedding coming up, busy, etc.

Had nothing going on last night, decided to blow it or turn it into something. Sat down at $11 sit-n-go, got 1st. Played another, got 2nd. Went to a $0.50/$1 ($50 max buy) NL cash table. Started drinking, Budweisers and shots of Sambuca (black licorice flavored liqour, 80 proof, gets you tore up). Not getting hammered, just unwinding, it's been a long week at work and Friday was almost here. Only had a few (so far).

Sat down with $30 (had about $80 in account at this point I think), turned it into $90 when I tripled up w/ A-10 off. Funny hand actually, flop was A-Q-J, really loose guy on my left goes in for his $40 or so, another calls. Loosie has Q-8 (WTF?!?), caller has A-K, so I'm f'ed until a K hits the river (sweet revenge for the MANY outdraws I have taken at PP).

Get up from the table with about $140, go to the bar to meet a friend for drinks. Only have 2 as I am itchin' to get home and play some more. Get home about 10:00, sit down, things are just going my way. Soon I'm up over $200, then 3. Getting hammered at this point. Eventually I black out, man that Sambuca can F you up good. Last thing I remember is the GF going to bed around 1:00. She says I came stumbling in to bed around 3.

Highest amount I remember having was around $360. Checked the account this morning. Zero.
:nohead:

To make it worse, I had to get up at 5:45 for work this morning. So I am sitting at my desk feeling like a sack of shit, all the while knowing I blew some $300+ last night cause I was an idiot and got drunk.

:nohead:

Noone's fault but mine, you don't have to tell me that. Just typing this story to try and stay awake. :smoking:

You're a better man than me, I'd have called in sick (unless I had some important meetings/appointments). At least you only lost "the house's" $$ and not $360 of your own, Bro. Sounds like you had a fun night. I'm guessing the GF didn't "finish it off" for you.

Big project due at end of day today, I had to come in. Trust me, if I could have called in sick I would have. I am still drunk, hope the boss can't smell me from the other room LOL.
As soon as this project is done, which should be noonish, I'm out. :smoker2:

Hang in there, Bro! As fun as it may sound to others to show up drunk at work, it is not...about 9:30 the old head starts pounding and the stomach starts churning. Go buy yourself a 7-UP and sip on it. If you have any cough drops handy, those mask alcohol on your breath better than anything I have tried. Good luck with your project...and quit farting around on the Rx, get busy on that project! :103631605

Already drank a Propel fitness water (24 ounces) and another 24 oz of water. And as bad as I wanna finish this thing, I can't seem to get motivated. Maybe 2 and a half hours of sleep is to blame for that. :nopityA:

I hate this argument. The second you won it is YOUR money.

Do you actually think the guy calling 1 all in with q8 is worse than you calling 2 all ins with the ace 10?

I'll admit it was a pretty poor play, but you have to understand the circumstances. The game was very loose and fast, people were making and calling bets with garbage. I was on the button with A-10 and raised it up to around $3, big blind reraised to 6 and me and one other called. Flop got checked to me and I bet out $5 when it came A-Q-J rainbow -- I honestly put the reraiser on pocket 8s or 9s and the other guy who came in on ace-rag. When the big blind moved in (he was the one who had Q-8) and the other guy called I had $11 of my stack in the pot and only about $13 left. And the pot was huge. It wasn't my whole stack, just what I sat down with.
Again, bad play but oh well, it worked out on that particular hand.

HAHA nice story. I get drunk and play all the time but if it is getting to the verge of blacking out then I know it's time to quit

Also in my defense, I should note that it was a 5-handed game. A-10 on the button in a 5 handed game is fairly solid IMO.

You're right, Joey, I'm just trying to make the dude feel better. I don't think any of us after being up several units and blowing it would say "oh well, it wasn't even my $$," it's just a rationalization for pissing away a nice bankroll.
