Afternoon all. Reds made it interesting but couldn't get there and the big bet on Pitt goes down in flames but all in all, still a winning day. Go 4-3 and win 400. Now 188-220-7 and -2416 in the bases as we approach the break.

Remember, tread cautiously with these, especially this weekend. Who knows which players have packed it in and are ready for a little vacation. Eddings goes tonight unless he gets an early vacation. Pops thinks it will be in Texas. I lean 'U' in that one to begin with... won't be around to post but if he's there I'm going U for 800... anywhere else, I'll be under for 600 regardless of who's pitching. He's the only club member I will ride without hesisitation at this point, regardless of the pitching matchup. The rest of them, I am playing with extreme caution. Sides - especially dogs - have gotten me back to sea level.

Shade Washington tonight but would like even-money before I consider them.

Call me a sucker but I will take Pitt again. Tonight it's going against Lieber, who makes his first outing in 39 days as he returns from his strained groin. Snell has lost three straight after winning five in succession. Lieber's last rehab start wasn't too successful, as he gave up six runs in 6 1/3 innings in Class A Clearwater.

Florida going to be favored tonight and in Game 1 tomorrow regardless if the Mets go with Maine or Pelphrey. I can tell you one thing - this HAS to be the first time in the history of baseball a team that is 12 games behind a division rival pre-All-Star break will be favored in at least 2 of the games, possibly three, in a series at the other team's park. Lean to Fish tonight against LIMA TIME but will pass.

I looked at these games last night and I didn't like them. Thought by coming in today that things would change. They haven't. I still hate it.

Stat worth noting: Baltimore has lost 25 times on the road; 24 by more than one run. Yet CLE is -170 and the RL is plus 126? A 96-cent value so long as they win by more than one? I'm not convinced that will happen but the price is right. Benson got beat up a little last time and Baltimore is 1-14 vs. LHP on the road. Gotta give it a shot.

The play: CLE -1.5 runs plus 126 - 400 to win 504

Wright is a little cheap against Tampa tonight. Seo is absolutely goddawful. He might be the worst pitcher in baseball and now he's up against a top-to-bottom lineup that's capable of getting production from anyone... Could you imagine if Sheff and Godzilla were in there?

The play: Yankees -1.5 runs plus 109 - 600 to win 654

Kansas City once again getting a ridiculous price at home. Now 12-5 in their last 17, dogs in all but one game... Burnett struggled vs. PHI last time and I was able to cash in then at about this price. KC goes with Luke Hudson, who hasn't pitched moer than 2 2/3 innings in an outing all season. Still, he's been a starter for much of his career. Toronto could be looking for the break, having scored just 9 runs in the first four games of the road trip.

The play: Kansas City plus 180 - 400 to win 720

Lackey faces Oakland for the first time since his May 2 brawl with Jason Kendall. Lackey gave up four runs and six hits over 5 1/3 innings in a 10-3 loss. A fight got triggered by an inside pitch from Lackey while Kendall was batting that drew words between the players before they eventually engaged in a scuffle on the mound as the benches cleared from both teams. Zito has lost two straight, and hasn't lost three straight since first three starts in 2005... Zito beat the Angels in his lone start against them May 1 in Anaheim, scattering five hits over 7 2/3 innings in a 1-0 victory.

The play: Zito -110 - 550 to win 500

A stab... OAK -1.5 runs plus 206 - 200 to win 412

One more thing that mystifies me. Pinnacle is now taking action on MINOR-LEAGUE BASEBALL. No listed pitchers or anything. At this time of day, it's in a $250 grocery dollar circle but they actually have posted $5000 limits on this shit. You gotta be fucking shitting me. And it's not just AAA either, they got lines up for the three AA leagues (Southern, Texas, Eastern).... Simply amazing.

GL all...
