think carefully. we have a dollar on this.
is david wright a "superstar"?
the youngin says yes.
i say superstar requires parts of talent, longevity and celebrity. clearly he has allstar talent and may be a superstar someday but misses out on the longevity and celebrity parts.
equal parts not required ie... anna konakova is based mainly on celebrity and some talent.
My son says that he is the NL All Star starting 3rd baseman and is in the Home Run Derby so he obviously is a celebrity. He also says that Wright is up for an ESPY for that barehanded catch that everyone knows, plus he is in NY so that automattically gives him extra celebrity points.

I say yes but the public is still in the dark. For your bet, If the Mets win it all you win if not next year, he gets his due. Look at the fantasy numbers now to judge not the Allstar votes.

I agree that he is not a superstar yet, but is off to a good start.

27 homer season under his belt does not qualify as a superstar...of course he is on his way Dubpoet, but he needs a hell of a lot more than half season.

Just read that David Wright jerseys are outselling Jeter jerseys. My wife's crazy about him.

This guy's the real deal--but he's got to do it longer. Not a superstar yet...and I'm a huge Mets fan!
