Just a lower level claimer. Saw one I loved today, had hit the board 9 out of last 9 starts. Got claimed by someone else. My partners know the ins-and-outs and I am just along for the ride and learning the game.

BTW,
I think Green Doberman would be a great name for a horse.:103631605

I can see it now on NBC SPORTS next year

"and the owner of this years Kentucky Derby winner, with a great chance at the Triple crown is a dog named Green Doberman"

I got into the horse racing business a couple of years ago with a horse syndicate and it was a total blast.

We ended up passing on the claim and it's a good thing because the horse looked like crap.
We are definitely dropping a claim on Wed. and it is a horse I absolutely love! We lost a three-way shake last time on him and they are bringing him back. I was walking around depressed for a while that day because I had my heart set on him. Here's hoping we are lucky this time around.

Sometimes losing those shakes are like winning.

I wouldn't ask you to divulge the track or race, but may I ask if this claim will be made from a track west of the Mississippi?

So buy two, one at each of 'youse' homebases: each of you will have full control of one. Stay abreast in this forum....& you've made another close & trustworthy friend, PLUS WE get to learn about the nuts & bolts of the game as we follow along..........

Labeeb,
The answer is east of the Mississippi.

And I am a percentage partner in two claiming purchases. I had one horse for two races. Both of which he put in duds, a 6th then a 5th. He was claimed away from us in the second race and proceeded to run 2nd last week.

Not sure about Wednesday. Although I'll be heading out to Minnesota for the Claiming Crown that day so the chances decrease as I'll be busy getting ready for that trip tomorrow.

How cool would that be to own your own horse and to root it on at the track? Next best thing to owning a sports franchise

No matter what happens with the horse though, you will still have the best avatar on the Rx. So at least you got that goin for ya

Expecting to drop the claim tommorrow (Wed.). Most likely there will be others claming this horse as well.

A little info for those that don't follow the horse game....
When more than one claim is made on a horse, a "shake" is done to determine who gets the claim. The shake is basically a roll of the dice or random draw.

When we claimed my first horse, we were the winners of a 7-way shake. The horse we are trying to claim, we claimed last time and lost a 3-way shake for him.
