The BOSE SoundDock will be the best sound and is suitable for home. You can also get a hookup (Monster cable for $30) for your home stereo system if you have a nice receiver and speakers already. I like the smaller JBL On Stage Portable Station. It has great sound and I can take it easily on the road.

It's awesome. It gets surprisingly loud, though it is not designed for bumping your music super loud. Sounds great, nice remote, very portable. Best part about it is that it charges off the wall like your cell phone, so you can take it out on the porch, into the bathroom for showers in the morning, etc., without using batteries.
