Howard has the most raw power out of all of them.

Homerun Derby is usually a time where a player makes a big name for himself, and I think Howard is that guy this year. Phillies are never in the playoffs and the casual baseball fan will learn about Ryan Howard, the next young slugger - tonight in the National Spotlight.

He hits homeruns in batting practice that absolutely amaze his teammates. If the guy faced just right handed pitching, he'd be approaching 40 bombs. He cant hit lefties. He'll have his boy throwing BP, and Im sure he'll be a righty. Hoping he gets his nerves up a bit, and channels that anxiety and excitement into some extra long ones.

Glaus is a big man. He's got raw power, but he's never been able to do what has been expected of him. Sure, he hits homeruns and is a good hitter, but he has lots more potential. He still has a lot left in the tank, but it is appearing it may never come out. If he gets into a groove, watch out. But I dont think he will be able to put it together over a few rounds. He may have 1 good round. Same for Jermaine Dye.

Ortiz is a little too much of a public fave for me.

Miguel Tejeda may prove steroids to be his downfall in this thing. Miguel Cabrera is a great pure hitter and clutch hitter, especially for his age, but I dont know if he can mash with the big boys in this event. Same for David Wright.

That leaves Berkman to challenge Howard and Ortiz. Berkamn got into a groove a few years ago. He could do it again tonight.

Enjoy!

I love the Cabrera over Tejada play - I'm on it as well.

Also like Wright and Berkman to show well today.

Dye +1100 and up is also worth a shot, IMO. Guy's on a tear. GL today.

Hmmm.

Do you like Cabrera over Tejeda?

Or Tejeda over Cabrera?
