Okay, so let’s say that the House passes this bill and sends it to the Senate. The Senate has a 27 day window until they take a month long break, and then they’re back for a month until early October. If the Senate does pass this, and Bush signs it into law, how likely is it that a judge orders a stay of execution on it or just outright overturns it, calling it unconstitutional? How many laws have been passed by Congress, presidents, or popular votes only to be overturned by judges in the past?

Is this likely or am I just holding on to a false sense of security?

It won't get passed. And you're right judges would/will zap key elements......

I give it 20% chance of passing. If passed I give it 20% chance the DOJ will do anything about it. If they do anything about it I give them 20% chance of figuring out what they should be doing. If they figure out what they should be doing I give them 20% chance of something within 20 years. If they get around to it in 20 years, I give them 20% chance of figuring out what is going on. If they figure out what is going on, I give them 20% chance of figuring out who is doing it.

So you do the math...

Of course, that is the point. Asswipes like Goodlatte, Kyl, Leach, etc. want you to think you are a bad person for gambling. Only way to get you to even think of change your ways is to act this way and threaten the public. They know and I know and hopefully you know nothing really changes with all this crap. Congress and the GOP will have made their statement and life will go on as it did. Nothing will be stopped, nothing will be blocked.

You guys should be hoping for the best and preparing for the worst.

Sticking you head in the sand and trying to predict the behavior of a besieged Republican Party in an election year or the likely rulings of our now Repub/Conserv dominated Supreme Court will only give you a false sense of security.
