My book thinks I am a cheater...

So my book thought I cheated him awhile ago. I have been using him for 5 years, and he thinks all of a sudden I am cheating him.

Hope to make this short. I put in probably 2-6 plays daily (about $100 a piece). One day I screwed up (I will be the first to admit it) and put in a play (via phone message) that had already started. Anywho, the game won (my favor) and he now thinks I am a cheater. Like I said, I have been dealing with this guy for years, and NOW I am a cheater. He brings up line movements of a half a point in my favor (we use bodog lines) all the time. I tell him this is common with public lines and he should get his head outta his ### and realize this. He comes back with that isn't the issue, it is the fact that he is unsure how long this has been going on. So I ask "you mean to tell me you have not been checking call in times with game start times in 5 years?" He says no, and that is why he is shutting his operation down, due to the possibility of cheaters.

Anyhow, this is where I am getting screwed. We CONFIRMED 3 weeks prior me up 2.3K. No questions asked, I agree, he agrees... his guy that pays me doesn't have the money (a first). Since we have been cool for 5 years, I say alright. I win another 1.3k (in with a hundo is a bad play on my part), in the future weeks (2+weeks).

Now he says he wont pay me a dime due to this ONE mistake. I offered to drop the 1.3K, the money after we confirmed, and just settle with the 2.3k. I figured I screwed up, and understand, and if he can't trust me at least let me buy him off. He claims since I "cheated once" there could be other times, but he can't prove one way or another, so I get nothing.

I am FURIOUS. Give me a rational thought here, not looking to kill him or do anything dramatic, just looking for something to rationalize this guy into paying me.

HELP?

I would threaten him and back it up if he didn't pay. But I'm 23 and very territorial. A wiser person might just let it go knowing you won't get your money, that you've been getting good lines for 5 years and call it the cost of doing business.

Tell him to get it up. If he does not get it up, just drop two empty gas cans at his front and back door. He will pay quick. What a piece of shit.

The best way to nail him is to make an honest effort to get your money from him while recording all your conversations and if he doesn't pay then inform the cops of his activities and give them the tapes; if he gets busted, and admittedly he might not, inform him that you were the reason.

I have a local that puts lines on a recording in the morning, and doesnt move them at all. Great for games later in the day.

Have some else hook up with him (obviousy , you can't be the intoducer). If he wins, great if he loses , have him settle with you. Sounds too easy but what the local do? shut him off?

GO FIND ANOTHER LOCAL,,,,,, and TELL HIM of the situation,,,,

then TELL the NEW local that you will Move all your business to him if he gets your money, and you will SPLIT it with him!!

YOU WILL get your money,,, and you will be Protected,,

locals are fine,,,, your guy is a deadbeat, and any OTHER local that finds out about him will DEFINATELY take care fo the problem,, Locals are a different breed now with technology, and any jackass that cant pay a 2300 tab prob has a gambling prob and Lost all your profits:suomi: ,

I didnt know that anyone around here still used locals. I had to stop about 15 years ago when I couldnt get paid $3000 one week after I won. He had always paid before, but he lost to other players as well and skipped town!

That was the SECOND time that a bookie skipped town without paying me.

I use a local also. I have done this same thing about 5 times in the past year (call in a bet after the game started), purely by accident. It gets confusing sometimes with college basketball, when the site he pulls lines from has a noon game mixed in with the 3:30's for whatever reason, and I miss the time on it. Also sometimes I make the idiotic mistake of forgetting to convert eastern time into central, so it's 6:15 in illinois and the game starts at 7 eastern, and I think I've got 45 minutes... My guy has never cared whatsoever; I leave the message on his phone and he calls me back 30 seconds later and says "dude, that game already started." We both get a laugh out of it.

Bottom line is it is HIS responsibility to check your call time with game times. He says he has not been checking for 5 years, I call bullshit on that. Noone is that stupid. How did he catch this error if he has not been checking?

The only thing I can suggest is, and hopefully you have been calling him from a cell phone, is to look back at your call history. My phone stores my last 50 calls, hopefully you have a week or so worth of calls to him stored, with time stamps. Rationally show him the 20 or so times before this that you called in on time. If at that point he doesn't pay, I have to say I agree with tater. If he doesn't pay after a rational conversation he is either broke or a stiff or both.

If you can't talk and convince him to pay you "all" of your money that you won fairly...$3,600 I believe, then you need to take action...

I had a similar situation years ago with a young wannabe, Ihit him up for around $5,000 the first month of college foots and he paid me $1,500 the first 2 weeks then said he would not pay me...SO I called and talked and called until he finally said if I called him again he would beat the crap out of me...

Well to cut a long stroy short I know some people around here and made sure I got in otuch with them and told them what happened...Safe to say within a week he called and said he would have my money withi a week...

Come to find out the older "guys" do not like crap like this and more or less said pay him or there is a big problem...EIther way he ahd a big problem as I already had people who were more than happy to extract $3,500 worth of damage times 50 on him if he did not pay...

Oh and just to make me feel better I would send random magazine subscriptions to his house...Like better living, house and garden, and some gay magazine...

so I say if you can tlak to someone who has power over this person ifnot and you are not afraid of him then most definatley threaten him...

Listen to doc and PKJ. Those who still use locals get what they deserve. If you have a computer, there is no reason you shouldnt be gambling online, even with the recent political developments.

Tell him if he doesn't pay up that the next time you make a bet with him it will be after the fucking game is over and you will pull a "Deadwood" on his ass and rip out an eye before finishing him off.
