Cannot believe the amount of violent crime right around me!

I live in the county, far away from the city where this sort of thing happens all the time, but is not suppose to happen in the county!?!?!.

In the past 10 days-

Yesterday 20 yr old black male murdered, gunshot to the head, blocks from the police headquarters and about 1/2 mile from me.

A man was seated at his dining room table when he suffered a bullet wound to his lower right leg.. Police say he was hit by a stray bullet from a gunfight between two young men outside....this was less than a half a mile from me.

4th of July, a man was filling up at the gas station, he went in to pay and saw a guy trying to steal hs car, with his CHILD INSIDE! The guy ends up grabbing onto the side of his car as its being carjacked and loses a leg , the carjacker never made it with th car but toook off on foot....this was also a few blocks from the police substation, and about a half a mile from me in another direction.

I'm afraid so, it's very sad...

To the point I will have to start thinking more about where i go in my own neighborhood....last week a young hood was hanging out near my residence, as we pulled up my daughter says to me, 'should we wait in the car til he leaves' ...I was surprised at her reaction but that just goes to show how sad these times are.

The sad reality is there is no place to move to within reason to get AWAY from these SCUMBAGS!

These young punks today will kill a person just the same as looking at someone....you can be tough as nails but if some punk has a gun you are pretty helpless.

Shit, Jman, live in the city. Here in Cincinnati, a shooting is just about an every other day occurence. It is a joke.

I'm happy as hell to make it out of the city to safer grounds when I go out for a bike ride in the AM/PM

I often think about that, WTF will this generations kids do to the country?

It use to be a city problem for the most part, but the city people are now moving out into the county and this is what we get.

I ride my bike around the area all the time, never would I have believed this would happen out here.

The problem is trying to move away from it and where to go....it's pretty impossible.

Last week one of the Ravens was stabbed in a bowling alley by some guy 50 lbs smaller than him, they have video of the Ravens player hauling ass out of the bowling alley with a guy chasing him with a knife!

Actually from what I've heard Richmond is getting a little better with the new poilce chief. I read that DC is under a Crime Emergency because of the 14 violent deaths (as of yesterday) in the District so far this month.

J-man youre right, its very hard to find someplace to be totally isolated from crime.

Hate to be the one that has to say it (though everybody is thinking it) but the vast majority of these violent crimes are commited by black males. Here in Youngstown, OH it is getting worse every year as the inner city ghetto has spread to the surrounding suberbs. Yet if you drive 15 miles away to the all white (yet still VERY poor) neighborhoods there isn't a lick of violent crime. Anybody that think this isn't at least partially a racial issue is lying to themselves. It's really a sad situation with no resolution in sight - the problem is that everybody is too politically correct and afraid to be labeled a racist to talk about it

The vast majority of these criminals have nothing to lose. Lock up provides 3 hots and a cot, which is more than many minorities have at home.
