Thanks mods...MMA is blowing up thanks to some very smart marketing by UFC. Like everything else, there are those that bicker about which outfit is better, UFC or Pride. I like them both, but UFC caters to the US market so it is more accessible.

There is even a new outfit called World Fighting Alliance that will be having a PPV event on Showtime July 22 and will feature Rampage Jackson (who beat UFC LH champ Chuck Liddell), Machida Lyoto (the only man to beat UFC M champ Rich Franklin), and Jose Landi-Jons (who beat UFC WW champ Matt Hughes).

If Liddell beats Babalu at UFC 62, he will fight Wanderlei Silva. That is a dream match-up in MMA. Hopefully the different outfits will work together to bring the best fights possible to the public.

Babalu is insane, I saw him at an event here in Denver about 2 years ago. Ironically, I was ringside sitting 2 seats away from Chuck. Based on size alone, I think Chuck dismantles him.

Babalu will be like Randy - if he can take Chuck down he should win - but Chuck has proven he is nearly impossible to take down - certainly Randy had a better chance to get Chuck down - Liddell and Silvia would be a 1 round slugfest - who knows who would win - I would think Silvia since he has fought so many top class HW's.

Saturday Chuck and his wife/girlfriend were frolicking in the Mandalay Bay pool, sick love birds...kissing and hugging like they were the only ones in the pool...even played a game of chicken with another couple. If I told someone who didn't know that that was one of the baddest men alive there is no way they would believe it. They'd just think he had a messed up hair cut. Met Kenny Florian too. Nice kid.

Sunday at Hard Rock pool alot of the UFC guys were hanging out talking with fans. Got some good pics of Sylvia, Burkman, Grove and others posing with my wife and her friends. It's refreshing to see professional athletes mingling with the hoi polloi. Not one seemed cocky, arrogant, or condescending in any way. In fact, they came across as grateful. Don't know how much longer that will last, but unlike most sports, they appreciate the accolades.

If any of you get a chance to come out to vegas for a UFC event, it is a fun weekend. T

I disagree. Chuck's stand up over shadows his ground skills, he can submit opponents when given the chance... It is just that his sprawl his so impressive and he has such lightening fast hands that you don't see him on the ground often.

He will own Babalu, but he may fall to Silva...
