.......as most of you know , I'm not much into hyping plays, but this one is just JUMPING of the page at me . Put two units on it at PINN last night at +101, and two more at -103, and this one may still move. So, while desperatley searching for a BOS/OAK line , I kept coming back to this one .
The immortal Carlos Silva, the worst 4-7 starter in the bigs with a lusty 7.00 ERA, takes the mound for the TWINKIES this afternoon. How this guy has a starting job is beyond me, as even when he was winning , it was ugly. He didn't make it out of the second inning in his last start vs. TEX, giving up 5 runs on six hits in 1 1/3 innings. He claimed sore knee , but I doubt that, he is just been overperforming and got some lucky breaks early on this season, and his now reverting to form. . He has pitched past the sixth inning ONCE in his last six, and has given up 43 hits and 20 runs in his last 34 innings , spanning 6 starts !!!!
Cleveland has not got many timely hits in this series (much like the RED SOX until yesterday vs. the A's) but you can only hold those bats down for so long. As for the CLEVE. starter, Jeremy Sowers, well, to be polite , he shld be back in AAA ball, he's just not a big league starter right now based on his prev. performance's (18 hits and 13 runs in 15 innings of work spanning three starts. The only advantage he has is MINNY'S hitters have never seen his stuff, but they shld figure him out early enough (he's only made it out of the 5th inning ONCE in three starts , indicating he probably only has a decent fastball and not many other STRONG "out" pitches, and good hitters catch up to him quickly .

The more I look at this game, the more I like the TT for CLEVE. (5 -103) as well as the over (10 -103) ..........
I rarley have plays over 3 units (none this year ) but this one stands out !!!!! I have seen a lot of bad beat laments here all season , and truly feel the pain , as we have all gone throughit at some points before. Well, this one is a gem in my opinion , and I have had some success 'capping TT's this season, after making the adjustment due to horrendous bullpen performance by almost all teams. To sum this up.................

:toast: CLEVELAND TT over 5 -103:toast:

...........not using the "L" word, but the expected EV here is def. positive, in fact , it's , as Coach LT says,a "RUBBER BAND " play .............!!!:howdy:

The Minnesota Twins will be missing outfielders Torii Hunter and Shannon Stewart on Sunday afternoon when they conclude a four-game series against the Cleveland Indians at the Metrodome.
Hunter, who has played in 88 of the Twins' 89 games, left Saturday's 6-2 victory after two innings. He is scheduled to have an MRI on his sore left foot, after X-rays taken Saturday night were inconclusive.
"He came in and said he couldn't run," Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said. "It's more on the top of his foot toward the outer part of the little toe. He was hurting. He was close to having tears coming out of his eyes."
The five-time Gold Glove center fielder is hitting .269 with 14 home runs and 49 RBIs this year.
Stewart, batting .293, was placed on the disabled list on Saturday after going 0-for-3 with two strikeouts. The left fielder missed six weeks earlier this year due to a plantar fascia problem in his left foot, an injury that has resulted in him needing an MRI as well.
Minnesota (49-40) will be forced to juggle its lineup to replace its injured stars. Nick Punto made his first career appearance in center field when he replaced Hunter on Saturday and veteran outfielder Rondell White, who is batting .182 this season, was recalled from a rehab assignment at Triple-A Rochester.
Justin Morneau had three hits, including his 24th homer of the season, on Saturday. Morneau is batting .313 (10-for-32) against Cleveland this year.
Twins starter Carlos Silva (4-9, 7.00 ERA) is hoping to put a miserable first half of the season behind him. He has already eclipsed his career high in losses and was demoted to the bullpen for the first time as a Twin, making five relief appearances from May 18-29.
The right-hander is 2-3 with a 5.84 ERA in seven starts since returning to the rotation on June 4. However, he left his last outing after just 1 2-3 innings due to a strained right knee after allowing five runs in a 9-4 loss at Texas last Friday.
An MRI showed no damage to the same knee on which Silva had offseason surgery to repair a torn meniscus.
Silva can take hope from the way he's pitched after the All-Star break in his last two seasons, going 8-6 with a 3.60 ERA in 26 starts. He's making his first start of the year against the Indians after appearing once against them in relief on May 24.
Cleveland (41-49) fell to 5-3 against Minnesota this year despite Travis Hafner's 27th homer. Hafner is batting .395 (15-for-39) during a career-high 10-game hitting streak and has homered twice in this series.
The slugger is hitting .464 (13-for-28) with five homers and nine RBIs against Minnesota this season.
Rookie Jeremy Sowers (1-2, 7.47) makes his fourth career start for Cleveland and first on the road. He endured his shortest outing of the year his last time out, allowing seven runs and seven hits over 3 2-3 innings in a 7-4 loss to Baltimore last Saturday.
The 23-year-old left-hander, the Indians' first-round draft pick in 2004, is pitching against the Twins for the first time.
