sundays are a terrible day for me...lost big on the Pads, put my faith and my $ on the notion that Peavy would come into form and avoid a sweep against a slumping team....ALL the trends point in favor of the Pads tommorow against the Phils, especially the fact that their 19-4 in their last 23 night games and the Phils are:
8-24 in their last 32 night games.
3-9 in their last 12 road games.
and 7-17 in their last 24 games on Grass.
Yet the line is only -104 for the NL Wests leading team with one of their "big name" pitchers on the mound...I know many think that the pads "wont lose another one after a sweep to a team with a losing record', but when you play in the division the Phils are playiing and having to play the mets 15-16 times, its actually impressive to somewhat still only be 6 games under .500. The phils own the pads,
PHI are 8-0 in the last 8 meetings in San Diego.
PHI are 16-5 in the last 21 meetings.
so why would the line be -104 for Woody, when the Pads are 7-2 in games he has started this year and he is boasting a 2.92 ERA his last 3 starts..on the other hand, Hammels, who many believed was the next big thing in Phillies pitching, has a 8.25 ERA his last 3 starts and def is not pitching in the dominating fashion he was expected too...regardless, the Phils are starting to get back on track and the Pads have been very bipolar...the line is begging for SD money, and I will gladly take Hammels and the powerball Phillies against a SD team that was just swept after winning 5 straight.
