Washington +1.09 over FLORIDA
Despite losing two of three to the Pirates, the Nationals had some real fight in them over the weekend and finally snapped a five game losing streak with a win yesterday. A couple of lucky bounces and they could have swept the series but the good news is that the offense has woken up. The Nationals have scored 27 runs over their past four games and the addition of Kearns and Lopez to go along with Soriano, Zimmerman, Nick Johnson and Jose Vidro really makes this offense dangerous. They’ll face a struggling Ricky Nolasco, who has really been hit hard recently. In fact, Nolasco has surrendered 28 hits, seven jacks and 24 runs over his past 18.2 innings, covering four starts. That’s simply brutal and one of those starts came against the Nationals minus Kearns and Lopez. Tony Armas comes off the DL to start for the Nats and while he’s an injury waiting to happen the man can still pitch and when he’s on his game he’s as tough as shoe leather. Nats a live pup here and we’re on it. Play: Washington +1.09 (Risking 1.5 units).

L.A. ANGELS +1.10 over Cleveland
Boy, baseball is a beautiful game, isn’t it? Here’s an Indians team that can score 19 runs against the Yanks, they also score 10 in a game a bunch of times this year and than they make Brad Radke and Carlos Silva look like Santana and Liriano. Go figure. Anyway, Cleveland scored six runs in the last three games over the weekend and batted .192. Now they’re asked to go into Anaheim and play the major’s hottest team that’s won seven in a row and 11 of 12 games, plus they’re favored. We don’t think so. We’d discuss the starters for this one if it had influence on this choice but it does not so we won’t. Wrong side favored. Play: L.A. Angels +1.10 (Risking 1.5 units).

Note: I'm 0-9-1 since the break so tread lightly.
