I know the taxes are high but If this all keeps up. I think I'm moving to Canada or Nevada. Can I just move to Vancouver or are there problems involved. Canada is not trying to stop online gambling?

Canada are States' puppet. I wouldn't plan on moving there if I was looking to reastablish my freedoms.

I'm not even convinced you can gambling in Canada if you are a US citizen.

I mean this guy was a UK citizen taking wagers in CR.

The states aren't going to be the problem...the books are going to have the problems paying. Can you imagine the run on the bank this is going to have? When books can't take US bets, I wouldn't want to have my money in an offshore. The US betting money is what gives these places the needed critical mass.

You will be better off betting with a local after this.

WOW you would leave the country just to be able to bet. All your winnings would be toast just on taxes alone. I visit Canada a lot. But I would never move there. Just find a local and enjoy your life in the states. LOL Could you imagine how it wqould sound to your family of why you are leaving.

Nieghbor would say "hey why ya moving to Canada to pay all those taxes?
Answer " So I can be a degenerate gambler , tha states won't aloow me to lose my house.
LMAO Just find a local.

I love Canada and I'm single so it would not be a big deal. The Taxes also include Health Care if I am not mistaken. I was born in England so I'm not just a US guy. I am not moving to England though.

It sure would seem to be a lot safer regarding violent crime up there.

Hell move to Nevada no state taxes.
Good luck on that health care. You do realize anything run by a gov't is never better then private business.

I agree. What is sad is this is your average American (conservative) view. The USA is the greatest place in the world and she could NEVER do any wrong. Moving out of the US is the best move anybody could ever make right about now. Open your eyes and look around RightSide. Our country is going down in flames

Exactly, that is the reason I plan on moving to South America after I get my MALAS. The US government is starting to get involved in people's lives WAY too much. I understand that to stop terrorism you have to take away some freedoms, but half the shit they are cracking down on now has nothing to do with terrorism. I am half expecting Bush to announce that offshore gambling syndicates are backing Hezbollah troops in Lebanon.

Cheap to rent, which is what I'd do...

Prob around $400k for a 3-bed with pool to buy in Famagusta area.

Renting wise: 2 bed, pool for about $600-$800/mo with sea view.

I'm living on my retirement which comes from a US civil servant job. Would I stop getting that if I left the US?

I think you're over-reacting Dub. The charges are Racketeering, Conspiracy and Fraud while the Wire Act charges were just thrown in. This is an alleged corrupt organization. DOJ has been very clever in making the arrests as the bill just cleared the House. Wait until October to see the bill fail to hit the Senate floor.

If you are serious about moving I'm sure we could get together at the Bash.
