I don't know if Cole Hammels is the answer. I thought (and still do if he gets his head on right) Meyers was gonna be the man. But, as evident by recent happenings, he is a bit of a head case.
I just think it is now the product of the years and years of high hopes Ed Wade and Montgomerie had in the farm system. Each and every year they had "the next steve Carlton/nolan Ryan" in their system. Franklin, Floyd, Hamels, Madsen. They could have traded away some of that talent for a proven started, but that never happened.
Let's just hope Gillick is as good as he has shown in the past and can turn this thing around. Either that or put Billy Penn on top of another building to cancel that curse. :nopityA:
