If I was going to keep money offshore right now, I'd diversify it between a bunch of books. I'd also diversify by book's country.
None of us have any idea who the US or if the US will shut down next, but if they do, I suspect it is a big operation and not a small one.
I'd rather lose 2% if they kill one of my 50 books than 20% if I had 5 books.

IMHO at this time i would think that Anyones money is better off under the mattress of their own home.
This might be just the start of things to come down the road. Also this might be the best time to start hunting "locals" around your town or close by.
CFB season right around the corner and sometimes the first month to 6 weeks the linemakers have a very difficult time in getting the numbers correct.
CRIS would be my choice for an account as they are most usually the first up if not the first up.

Thanks for the replys and opinions. A tough situation, indeed. I don't know of any locals where I live. Jax is about as heavy a bible belt town in America as any other. Silver, I am with you on having to go back in time. Guys, if you get a chance, go read "The One Percent Doctrine" by Ron Susskind. It will give you a glimpse into the mind set of the Bush administration. I really fear for our country. This is how things started in some countries from the not so distant pass.
