I'm going to the WSOP next week, and hell, I'm wondering who's going to be there now. I've got my name on the list for several private parties with Absolute Poker, Bodog, etc, but now it looks like they may be backing out.

At BoS, they got everyone from the CEO to the media director. You can bet if I'm the intern at Bodog they send to run the party, I'm quitting.

What I thought. I guess I'll go ahead and finish booking rooms.

Bodog.com released a statement few minutes ago announcing the postponement of the Bodog Marketing Conference, originally scheduled to take place in Las Vegas July 23 thru 25."The Bodog.com Marketing Conference presents a wonderful opportunity for good discussion about marketing, customer service and about the growth of our industry; however, in the last few days, many of you who planned to attend the conference have expressed a high level of concern over the uncertainty surrounding the U.S. government's recent actions against one of the companies in our industry. It is in light of these concerns that we have decided to postpone the Bodog.com Marketing Conference to a later date and at an international location. This decision ensures that the focus of the conference will not be lost." Calvin Ayre said announcing the postponement.

As of now, the Feds aren't after "the Gamblers", so The RX Bash should be safe grounds

Calvin Ayre may be a flamboyant mo-fo, but he ain't no fool, he knows what's up

yes, but they did recently go after The Sporting News for taking gambling ads for a fine to the tune of $7.2mil. Therx would be no different than The Sporting News. If I worked for Therx, I'd take this in to consideration.

Exactly...they aren't going after the players...they are going after the people that "aid and abet" the sportsbooks by helping them market.

They had a crack down on these type of sites last year where the DOJ sent out threatening letters to sites that were allowing sportsbooks to advertise. I think those warnings will be taken a lot more seriously these days.

Three guesses who started the thread over there. Said it would be prudent to postpone it. :nopityA:
