"Hillenbrand was upset that he didn't start Wednesday night and that nobody in Toronto's front office congratulated him on adopting a baby girl last weekend. "

Sounds like TO after Philly ignored some landmark TD he got. Also sounds like Bonds bitching about MLB ignoring his passing of Ruth.

Interesting insider insight on the negative atmosphere in the Jays clubhouse, though. Didn't know that, and wouldn't have guessed that.

My favorite quote of his interview:

"Not one person from the front office has even come up to congratulate me," he said. "It's all the little people like you guys. But nobody from higher up. That's a disgrace."

I am sure everyone took that as a compliment...being called "little people like you guys".

He was outright cut tonight. 10 days to trade or release him.

Blue Jays saying he was really disruptive in the clubhouse.

And if the Road Warrior says it, it must be true..

He's wore out his welcome everywhere he's gone.

An old friend gave me a piece of advice.
If one person calls you an A$$hole, you tell him to F*ck off
If a Second Person calls you an A$$hole, you tell him to F*ck Off
If a third Person calls you an A$$hole, you look in the mirror before you tell anyone else to F*ck Off

How many teams has Shea been through?

i think we should hold judgement here....they showed Toronto's Owner (who just called out 3 players last week--which shouldn't be done ever by an owner) and the manager throwing this guy under the bus and then they interview Vernon Wells who seemed down on the whole situation...i think I'd side with the players before the owner and manager.

.
He skipped a game before the break to adopt this kid...very hard to adopt kids in today's world...think owner and manager were pissed he skipped ONE game. Who knows...i'd let this play out some before judging him as none of us know the circumstances behind this.

.
One thing I can take from this is the Vernon Wells interview as he seemed a little down about it and made it seem like he was a pretty good teammate.

Its not Toronto's owner....The Jays are owned by Ted Rogers who is very much like Ted Turner was before he sold Time-Warner to AOL. Ted Rogers owns everything pretty much that concerns itself with media. Well his company and another huge company. Ted Rogers saying to Shea Hillenbrand hey congrats on the kid is like Bill Gates stepping into someone's office saying he congrats on the kid. Nice in theory but it rarely happens.

The comments about the owner ripping the team are not from the owner but from JP Ricciardi the GM. While his job is safe he is under alot of pressure to win since its his 5th year on the job and he is paying alot of guys alot of money so i'd be pissed too if i saw my team playing like crap against the Royals when there in a hurt for a playoff spot against powerhouses like New York and Boston. I have no issue whatsoever with what Ricciardi did, its like a manager at your work getting on your case for not working up to your level of talent. Maybe I wouldn't go public with it but atleast I understand. The major problem with the Jays is that there isn't that one firey player who will win at all costs since both Wells and Halliday great players are more the quiet lead by example type.

As for Hillenband the guy has always had a screw loose. Up until this year he lived in an RV for crying out loud. Aside from that the guy is a prick. I've never seen him smile not once. I don't think the man likes baseball since he looks like the most miserable person on the face of the earth. He also burns bridges everywhere. The day he got traded from Boston to Arizona for kim he was blasting the Red Sox's management saying there going to regret this deal more than Larry Anderson for Jeff Bagwell. Arizona got rid of him after a year. Plus Toronto was going to let him go as a free agent anyway so if he is moved beforehand so be it the one thing Toronto doesn't lack is bats anyway.

Just found out John Gibbons the manager chewed him out in front of his teammates and then told him that he was cut by the team in front of everyone.

def. not an isolated incident & can easily take judgement on him...

Do you guys guys remember how he left Boston? He whined like a lil bitch then, as well.

When the Sox decided to trade him...Red Sox management (ie: Theo Epstein) decided to do the right thing...and flew to Toronoto (where the sox were playing) to tell Shea he was traded, and not tell him over the phone. Theo wanted to show him that respect because he was a well liked player by the fans.

Hillenbrand ended up pissing all over Theo's move & shit on the whole Red Sox organization...and literally cried his way out of town. He went from being a cheered player...to getting booed when he came back to town...the guy just doesnt get it.

btw- in that trade, the Sox got BK Kim...which I've always beleived was a FANTASTIC trade - in the wide pitcure perspective. Ya- Kim sux...but it allowed the negative attitude of Shea to leave the clubhouse & allowed Ortiz to become an every day player. People forget Ortiz was among 4 or so 1st basemen/utility types the Sox brought in that year...after trading Shea - Ortiz instantly became an everyday starter.

Its going around Hillenbrand wrote "this is a sinking ship" on the locker room chalkboard and that he tore off the Canadian flag off his hat.

It seems something unacceptable took place as the GM made reference to not tolerating his behaivour to Canada and not confirming nor denying any incident. The players also seemed to have made some pact not to discuss the specifics to the media (as described by Reed Johnson this morning on local radio).

The guy is a nutcase and a prick...he would fit in well with a locker right next to Bonds.

My Giants sure could use a 1st baseman. I wouldn't mind us picking him up for the rest of the season and letting him and Bonds fight each day in the locker room.
