Hines Ward is coming up here ofr an autograph session, so I thought I would inquire how much it would cost for a ticket. Huge Steeler and Hines Ward fan, so I wanted to get something.
It turns out it is $275 for a premium item like a jersey. Adding the cost of the jersey and I would be out $500. If I were to keep put that $500 into my 401K, it would be worth about $2800.
Does anybody but me think that this is a bad investment?

Who is Hines Ward? Was he the guy that discovered the Polio vaccine or was he the guy that helped invent the DVD?

What has he done in his life that is worth getting an autograph?

As an investment, TERRIBLE!

Do not look at sports memoribilia as an investment, but rather something to be enjoyed looking at.

autographs are stupid. Why do you feel the need to prove to anyone that you met the guy?

Years ago sport cards and autographs actually meant something but now days they are something that is a complete waste of money from an investment standpoint.

If you are looking at it as a way to meet him since you are a fan and have something for your personal collection then that is the only way to look at it. But $275 is brutal for a signature.

wow, you can get many HOFs from $150-$200 on a jersey. Just wait another year or two to let the Super Bowl hype die down and you can get it for around $150 probably.

Sure it is'nt a typo and was meant to be $2.75? The guy should be ashamed of himself for even being involved in this highway robbery. The autograph and memorabilia hype died out in the early 90's and due to roids and overpaid salaries we will never see that type of hype again.

I will never be able to comprehend why anyone would get excited to have another man write his name on something. What exactly does this do for people?

I would pay it and hang it in your favorite place where ever that may be....how many people can say they have an autographed jersey by one of their favorite players, he wont be around forever.

$275 for an autograph of a guy who isnt even a top 5 receiver in the nfl today, lol.... invest your money where u can benefit... maybe for your newborn, congrats btw... maybe because i live right by pitt, but im tired of hearing about this guy, all his is is keyshawn johnsons clone, that isnt a deep threat... a possession receiver who thinks hes an elite receiver when hes not...
