This hypocrisy really makes me sad

I sit here in the good old Midwest. I can drive one minute to the convenience store to buy lotto tickets. I can drive 5 minutes to the OTB and bet on any number of horses, dogs, or parlay combination of them. I can buy unlimited booze and drink till I pass out. I can look at porn on the internet. I can drive to an adult bookstore and buy filth with cash that is taxed. I can drive 45 minutes to a casino where I can bet on whether a 6 rolls before a 7 on a dice table, or if 34 hits on the roulette wheel. I can fly 3 hours and bet on sports in Nevada. All that is fine and just part of being an American. But if I bet on sports in the comfort of my own home, and pass on the porn and booze, the gov't wants to concoct the idea that I'm somehow violating the standards of morality. Give me a fucking break. It's just like the NCAA telling me that they can't have a Div 1 playoff, because it would interfere with class time. But Div 1AA, Div 2, and Div 3......those guys can have a playoff because they don't need the class time. One thing is very obvious. Money talks, and this is all about money. The gov't is so arrogant and hypocritical, and they are pissed because they are not getting their cut. I can't stand to hear one more word about this morality bullshit. It's all a bunch of lies. Just shut up.

I have convictions, yes. I wouldn't say I'm religious, but I recognize that the potential damaging effects of porn are far greater than gambling. And while I do occasionally look at porn, I wouldn't call it a wholesome activity.

How popular would college football be without wagering? 75% less popular?

Without the gambling interest the ad revenue would shrink drastically, the players and coaches would in turn make much less money.

very good post about the whole CFB thing. You are so right. Those Thursday nite telecasts would have 2/3 less people watching if there was no gambling.

I've been at parties where he came walking in the back door looking for his college age daughter-I wonder how that contact hit worked out for him after that visit. 75% of the people in there were tripping...he had to have shit

No shit. Turn on the tv every night and see predator after predator being caught red handed. There is never a shortage of these freaks, and they are out wrecking havoc and destroying lives. Have a beer, bet on the Cardinals, (we all know you feds already do these things), and get your ass to work busting these real criminals. Lots of internet crime going on, but none of it involves wagering.

The US Govenment wants to control the world from the top to bottom. WE, if you want to count yourself.. are the only ones with nuke's of substantial ability to KILL BIZZIOLNS. Look at all the border skirmisih's... its car bombs...shotings...weak retaliations etc. Osma had to use our own airplanes to create problems...Hezbollah and the Isreal basically shot pea's at each other in compaison to what we have...don't you think the north korean standoff or the iranian standoff is all about the nuke and power...cause its the ultimate weapon of mass destruction...japan knows all too well...the US is the only country in the world to use such force...don't think it can't happen again..think again...So okay..lets move on to online wagers...its just another problem for a government trying to rule the world...cause its bad (supposedly) it does not represent wholeness...good people of faith...trust in the neighbor...and on and on it goes...money is one thing and it certainly is in vogue with off-shore business...but in the end its all about what is a calm...civilized...love thy neighbor attitude...because that brings in the dough for the government looking to control the world...think about it...if there were only two people on this planet...one would want to control the orb and the other would have to fight the bastard...
