Tough day yesterday. I called the phillies/braves game just about perfect. I said Brett Myers would throw a gem and he did. Through eight innings he only allowed three hits and one run. Phillies at the time had 11 hits but could only manage one run themselves. This was a hard loss to take, not only for my record, but for the phillies for their season. Lets try this again, hope to bounce back.
atlanta +105 vs phillies (3 units).............IT IS OFFICIAL. The phillies are done. The florida marlins have caught them in the standings. After losing that game last night, I am not sure where their heads are going to be tonight. Yes, they have Cole Hamels pitching tonight, and I think he is going to be a great one, but not this year. He has to go through some growing pains like he has this year. There is no way I would take these phillies as a favorite right now....they are money burners. I don't even think this game will be close. I think they braves pound them tonight and the fans boo the phillies right out of the stadium tonight.
san diego +106 vs dodgers (3 units)...........I really like this young pitching for the padres. He has looked unhittable at times this year. Now he gets to pitch against the dodgers whos bats have turned cold and they have lost 9 of their last 10. Pads play better on the road than they have at home this year too. They have a little confidence going right now being in first place while the dodgers are slowing falling out the the nl west race. Another nice dog here.
st louis -116 vs colorado (3 units).........Look out, the cards are starting to heat up and they are going to runaway with their division, while the rockies, like the dodgers, are falling out of the race in the nl west. Colorado not the great home team like they used to be. I can see two homeruns by Mr. Pujols tonight and an easy cardinal win. Nice odds to get the hot cards.
milwaukee -139 vs pittsburgh (3 units)...........another no brainer here. You got the brewcrew who are a very respectable 29-20 at home vs the team with the worst road record in baseball. Once again, the reason the line is reasonable is the bucs got Zach Duke pitching, but he is not the same pitcher this year as he was last year. How often can you bet against the pirates and only lay what you are laying today? Exactly. I will take it.
Usually I play a couple of one unit plays as well. I play two 3's, two 2's and two 1's, but I could not find two more, so at the last moment I changed them all to three unit plays. I have bounced back well after a losing day since the allstar break and hope to do so again tonight. I really like these plays tonight. I can see a 3-1 night at the worst.
