That is probably all they will keep, Howard and Utley def., sucks for them because it will take a few years to build this mess back up. I think the gm they have now took the job out of convience to being closer to home in my opinion and knowing the first year he had to stay with what he had coaching and player wise.
Gordon would be gone if they could find a taker. The team has some other young talent and is willing to spend some big dough, but just not on these losers. Totally looks like the goddamn Birds all over again. Keep coming up just short of the playoffs and then it all implodes in one year when the remaining vets suddenly suck and everyone starts pointing fingers.
The manager has little to do with the lack of success of this team. I thought we went through this about 30-45 days ago. Poor starters, mediocre bullpen, team doesn't hit for average, has little team power for a team that plays in a supposed hitters park, poor team speed and is below average defensively. Sure, Bowa would have turned this sinking ship around. It's going to be a LONG sports year in Philly. Glad I'll be leaving to head back to SC so I don't have to hear the dopes on WIP or read the dopes in the Daily News.

Bowa should never have been fired. The Phillies are a collection of pussies, they have no heart, play terrible baseball, and all had their feelings hurt when he got on them. Everyone thinks this team has underachieved for the past several years, I think they are what they are and will never win. Only guys to keep are Utley,Howard,Rowand, Hamels. They better start dealing now, Abreu,Lieberthal, and please trade or release Lieberthal, one good year in his career.
It's all about pitching. They don't have enough starting pitching and haven't for a while. This is a playoff team despite the pussies if they have a top 5 rotation in the NL. They do have a lot of dead weight in Leiberthal, Bell, and burrell to an extent.
Howard, Utley, Hamels are keepers for sure. I would like them to keep Abreu as well, but that is unlikely now. Even if he is a puss he still scores a lot of runs and drives in a lot of runs and doesn't clog the basepaths like Burrell and other slow ass phillies.
