1-5 (-9.33 units) yesterday
48-37 (+25.55 units) overall

What a horrible day last night. Something told me I was going to have a really great night, but if I did not it would totally suck. Did you ever get the feeling you were going to do great or horrible, that there were not inbetweens? Last night was my second losing night of the past three. I still don not think that I have had back to back losing nights since the Allstar break. Lets hope that trend continues.

Looks like we got some day games today. I really like some of them today. I think based on my history of bouncing back, I think I may play a few extra units Wednesday. Here we go.

milwaukee -178 vs pittsburgh (4 units)..............i really love this kid pitching for the brewers. Capuano (10-5, 3.49) just about always gives you a quality start. Mnay poeple have not heard of or at least paid any attention to this guys until this year. The pirates last night won their road game for the rest of July and they well not win back to back games on the road vs this kid. I am not crazy about laying these big of odds, but this is a very solid pick.

arizona -133 vs phillies (4 units).............I tried to give the phillies the benefit of the doubt last night by taking them, but of course they blew the game. Philly pitcher ryan madson had four wild pitches in one inning. They really need to sweep the diamondbacks to even have a prayer of getting back into the wild card race. I really believe that there is just too much pressure on the phils at home. for those of you who have been to a phillies game know what I mean. Here are a couple of stats on John Lieber for todays game.....Lieber is 0-2 with a 4.74 ERA in three starts since coming off the disabled list. Lieber is also 0-7 in career starts vs milwaukee. If you don't have enough reasons to go against the phils tonight, how about we are going against webb. CASE CLOSED! Speaking as a phillies fan, football cannot get here sooon enough for me.

mets -156 vs cubs (3 units)...........cubs got lucky and won last night. They still suck though. Mets pitcher Maine (1-3, 3.12) has a losing record but a decent ERA. Cubs pitcher Prior (0-4, 8.14) really sucks. It will be a miracle if he does not hurt himself by the end of the 3rd inning. Mets are going to pound him today. I feel bad for cubs fans, sort of like myself being a phillies fan. You guys always have hopes of a good pitching staff with Wood and Prior. They both need traded or just given their release to save the team some money. Cubs had a great pitcher throwing last night, so I can understand them winning that game yesterday, but not today.

angels -158 vs tampa bay (3 units)...............Despite the loss last night, the angels have got more healthy recently and have caught in a's in the west. I know Colon has not pitched well this year so far, but he is much better than what he has shown. I believe he is 8-1 career vs tampa bay, so hopefully he has some confidence and will pick up the win tonight. This is more of a gut feeling that Colon puts in a great effort. Tampa can hit the ball, but they seem to give up alot of runs too. Sometimes you just have to go with a gut feeling and I see a win for the angels here.

st louis +102 vs colorado (2 units).............I won with the cardinals last night, but for all the wrong reasons. I really thought their bats would come alive at coors, but they won the game 1-0. How often does that happen at coors? I am sticking with the cards for the same reasons today. I just see Pujols and the cards bats exploding sooner or later and coors is the place to do it. It is an added bonus that I am getting +102.

san diego +114 vs dodgers (2 units).......should be a great pitching matchup. Dodgers still having trouble scoring runs. I know Penny is capable of shutting down the pads, Peavy can match him pitch for pitch, so I am comfortable taking the better offense as a dog here.

atlanta -153 vs florida (1 unit)...........this is a very important game for the braves tonight. Good thing they have smoltz pitching for them. This next statement amazes me. WTIH A WIN, THE MARLINS CAN MOVE INTO SECOND PLACE IN THE NL EAST!! Wasn't just about everybody calling them a AAA team in the beginning of the season. I think you have to give the marlins organization a ton of credit. They give their team away every few year, but still seem to be competitve while other organizations try to buy a team and still suck. I really like atlanta tonight, but am only playing one unit because I am afraid of these marlins right now.

Seven games?? I cannot remember the last time I played so many in one day. I almost always play six, but with my history of winning the day after losing I figure why not.

Good Luck everybody.
