I'm confused, can you guys help me understand this??? Let's say you have these 3 plays.....

white sox -120
san francisco +105
houston -135

Do you bet something like this?
120 to win 100 for the white sox
100 to win 105 for sf
135 to win 100 for houston

or do you bet the exact same amt on each play?

If not any of those ways, how do you determine how much money you put on each play with all the different odds in baseball?

What you posted seems to be what most people like doing, but personally I like risking the same amount on each play, whether it's on an underdog or favorite.

Whatever you're more comfortable doing, really.

Like goodcall, I really like risking about the same amount on each play.

100 to get 70 and
100 to get 90 and
100 to get 110.....

It is much less stressful to me that way and seems to work well for me. Good luck. tulsa

actually after a tough start in baseball, I am having a pretty good season. big mistake on my part this year was chasing the totals in colorado (when they were home)

This is not the answer you likely seek(late to the party too, have not looked at scorebord btw), but:

1. firstly, 1st/3rd prices too low for my blood-- i'd look to the runline IF numbers & other handicapping support it. Otherwise, there is no real use for a minus price in a straight wager & to start the day, unless if added to parlays...we'd rather pass such a game in that case.

2. with that in place, bet 1½ units first game, which should yield @ $250 payoff, thus netting a little over 2 units:

3. IF you win, pull back original investment & either:
A. book the tiny leftover breakage as guaranteed profit AND straight bet a unit each on SF & HOU runline
B. or, book the small breakage & one unit, placing remaining unit on a parlay of SF & HOU moneyline

You can make good money while having risked a lot less of your money.

4. IF you lose:
A. safe option is to straight wager the remaining 1½ units in two 3/4 unit bets-- SF & HOU runline...if you split those two games, you will wind up with the SAME deficit as if you had flat wagered one unit on each of the 3 games.
B. our preferred option is to bet remaining 1½ units on a parlay of SF & HOU moneyline...willing to lose all if games go 1-2, in exchange for chance at nice score--

in other words, expecting to win 2 or 3 of the games....& if all three lose, moot point. And there's always option to hedge in game with a dog, etc........

Glenn,

Man it's good to see you post. Hope you're getting a nice bankroll ready for CFB. I'll be waiting for that first "Biggest Bet". You're a legend and a classic all rolled together.

Best to you and Colleen ( just assuming you two are still hanging)
