In my book, yes.

Came through tonight with a big 2-run ninth inning bomb!

He has pretty much returned to form...he is a very tough out in the crunch and has a great eye.

GIAMBI is FAR and AWAY the most admired/favorite Yankee player for this observer.

Second would be that closer they have.......forget his name.

Most people would not realize he has hit 1 homer every 10 at bats the past two seasons....he has a great eye and walks a ton!

A couple other players of note, the past two years.

Ortiz 81 HR 977 AB
Manny 73 HR 893 AB
Giambi 71 HR 720 AB

You guys are funny. Giambi got busted for roids, or I should say busted himself for roids and went into a deep deep slump. No power, no average. Then about August of last year he has 10 HR in a month and has been mashing ever since. The guy is on Growth Hormone!! He gets off steriods and loses a bunch of weight. He now looks like his old self and seeing how someone convinced him that he can't get caught for using HGH he apparently came to his senses and is now back to his old "roid" form.

Look at his power numbers while on roids in 2000-2003. 43, 38, 41 and 41. Then post roids he goes 12 home runs before making a strong run at the end of last season. This year he already has 29 HR on a pace for 45. He is also hitting them at a rate of 1 HR/10.8 AB which is better than his 13.6 back in 2003.

I give him a ton of credit for manning up last year and admit the roid use but can see that he is using something...maybe the new cream and clear?

Opinions on this are welcome.

By the way, did anyone see that strike 3 call his at bat before the HR? The ball was around his shoulders when it crossed the plate. One of the worst calls I have ever seen.

That UMP was horrible the entire night imo.

I would have a hard time understanding the mentality of anyone who was abusing steroids, getting sick/cancer (probably from using them) and then doing more steroids! I hope for his sake he is not...

Is it that inconceivable to think a baseball player just lifts weights without drugs anymore? yes i suppose it is.
